Have you tried on the Day Date 40? Depending on how big your wrist is I would say go for the 36 mm, it's a true classic that will never go out of style. Also it's very comfortable on my 7.25'' wrist. I owned a Datejust II and I liked it but something about it wasn't sitting quite right with me. It turned out to be that the proportions were off and the case was too big.
I think they fixed a lot of the issues (proportion wise) with the Day Date II when they released the Day Date 40. My suggestion as always is get whichever one YOU like the most. I would recommend the Day Date 36 mm unless you have a rather large wrist and in that case I would grab the Day Date 40 over the Day Date II, but we all know what opinions are like. Good luck on your hunt and really really take your time or you will lose money chasing the correct watch. I can't wait to see what you choose ![]() *edit* GDit why don't I read the OP post date... |

I think I have already contributed to this thread. In any event, the DD 36mm is my recomendation. This is the icon and perfectly sized. My wrist is 7.5 in btw.

36mm for sure. Classic DD always wins in my books.

I would hope so.

Tried on both sizes and imho the 36 mm connects with more dressier clothing or nice knitwear. Where the 41 mm is more of a sporty wristwatch.

41mm is just too big. The 36mm is the right size until they come out with a 39mm.

i have both 36mm y/g and s/steel with fluted bezel 16013 and i flipped my blnr for a datejust 2 s/steel and w/gold fluted bezel with blue dial,,tried one on in Schipol Airport before xmas and fell in love with it,
great imo for a daily hacker and totally understated,,,,,shades of blue are so lovely,, compared to my 36mm it dont feel heavy or out of proportion,,,, my milguass with green crystal although the same size felt much heavier,,,,,jay |

I had a 36mm Rose Gold. But traded it up to a day date II. I like the 41 better.

Old thread, but an interesting one.
36mm for me. I may be a little biased, but it just feels better on the wrist. My wrist size is 7 inches. The 40mm is pretty good too.

My wrists are 7 inches and I have a medium frame.
I've been wearing a 36 DD for 2 years. My other watches are 36DJ TT I've had for 30 years and a SS Sub. The Sub doesn't seem to look much bigger probably because I think gold wears larger.
