I think the GMT IIC is far cooler than the new Sub C! I love the green GMT hand and think it's very useful. I also prefer the beauty of the GMT's bezel with platinum numerals.

You all know this subject is destined to be addressed and debated, so let's get into it. Bring it sub lovers!!

What's your opinions?

P.S. - The Sub C is nice too though.
Currently I have the SS Sub 16610 and the SS GMTiic so no place for the SubC at the $7500 price tag. If it comes down then may be...

New GMT is nice. i actually have a picture of it on my fridge torn from a GQ/Eqsuire mag, so i could keep my eyes on the prize. I actually liked everything on it except the shine down the middle of the bracelet. Size and all that was good.

AND WITH THAT SAID :).....

I purchased a new 116610 Sub this weekend.

I think the one big disadvantage of the GMT-IIc is the PCLs. The new Sub-C bracelet doesn't have PCLs which is big difference for me. I do not like the PCLs at all. The scratch way too easily.

I have to cast a vote for the GMTc

It just represents such a step up for the GMT model...

The Subc is pretty much just the same model with a couple of tweaks..

No one would mistake a GMTc for a classic GMT...

But the Sub c and a sub classic, are pretty similar from 3 ft away..

Two different watches. I'm not for the green accents on the new GMT.

Cooler? Depends on who you ask. Flashier? Definitely. And I'm all for it.

I like the GMTIIc better, but I like the bezel of the SUB better. I think the GMT is more practical and I love the green hand, but the SUB looks more fashionable.

They are both cool and nice.
They are both iconic and well recognised.

The Sub-c has the good looks and more classic appeal of it's all brushed bracelet and slightly more conservative number size/font on the bezel.

However, the GMT-2c suffers less ubiquity and is far more useful. After all, any Rolex can be worn for 99.999% of all diving applications - sufficient water resistance is an everyday feature common to all models. Once the nasty PCLs have been brushed out the GMT wins as it also features a smaller (more comfortable) clasp and has a slimmer profile on the wrist.

Ummm...We'll have to disagree here....IMHO the Sub-C retains much of the original aesthetic of the original, whilst the GMTII-C....

Both are great watches in their own right and i like GMTs more than the Sub,but i don't like the green hand on the GMT IIc or the green writing.
