No doubt the pepsi and coke bezels are pretty cool. That said, I like the IIC myself (have the SS version) and feel it goes better with more clothing styles. I like the black ceramic bezel and black dial. While some say the ceramic is breakable and costly to replace, I can say I have whacked it a few times pretty hard (was really pissed at myself) but the watch took it like a prizefighter. I also like the PCLs as it gives the watch a classy upgrade to a sporty watch.
I really would like the 18KT green dial version but the reality of my bank account and salary makes that a dream only.

The ceramic is a nice watch but I would go with the Pepsi & not think twice about it.

The maxi dial and hands get me across the line on the GMTIIC

Thanks, you guys really came through with some fabulous photos, however I am leaning towards buing the GMTII for a couple of reasons.
The GMTIIc is going to be around for a long time, not so with the GMTII. I feel it is important to get one before the supplies dry up. The GMTII I tried was the most comfortable I have worn, even more so than The Sub date, the Submariner was about even in comfort. The GMTIIc is clearly the more handsome watch it seems to do all things well, that being said I would like a tool watch for my job as Airfield manager. If I want a dress watch with polished center links I would choose The Yachtmaster. I like the idea of being able to change bezels and change the look of the watch by myself. As of yet I am not confident Rolex will replace a broken ceramic bezel for no charge to me. I have heard the following words used to describe both watches. Clunky, Blocky, fat, blingy, scratch prone, tinny, rattle, cheap feeling, inadequate, cluttered, all of these terms are subjective and do not detract from the fact that both watches are excellent time pieces in their own right. Thanks for all your comments and great photos |

At this point, I have some regrets about replacing my Explorer II with the TT GMT IIc.
The movable bezel is not that useful to me and the Explorer II dial (sans cyclops) was much more legible. I did not care for the SS GMT IIc and was able to go TT for about the same price. The TT looks great but the gold bezel, crown, and PCLs are easily marred. I much prefer the red fourth hand to the green but the Easylink clasp is nice. During two years of ownership, the EXPII never had a problem and ran -1/sec/day. The GMT IIc runs -7sec/day and is shipping out to Dallas this week for some movement adjustment and regulation. When the new Explorer II is introduced next year, I will seriously consider it as a replacement for the GMT IIc. Fr. John† |

you're making a good decision... the gmt2c will be around for a long while. in the mean time, you will find the 16710 much more comfortable. all the while, you will not feel like a fashionista in the way that the gmt2c tends to make one feel. enjoy! |

I found a BNIB F series 04 Pepsi a few months back and have never regreted buying it, as my father in law had a GMT IIc and i thought mine looked the nicer watch. Both are nice watches though.

It was my first Rolex and will always be a favorite. I must admit though, I've been looking for a pepsi or coke for awhile now. Not instead of the 2c, but in addition to.

It can be a sports watch or a dress watch. My wife and I will be taking two or three major trips during the next twelve watch and it will be the only watch I'll take.

I always loved the look of the GMT IIc, but when I first got mine (2007) it ran a little slow which I found frustrating. However, the last time I reset it was sometime at the end of 2009 and it is now only +1 second (total) since then. Great watch and extremely accurate.

However I like the way Rolex does the GMT movement the best out of any GMT watch I have ever had or looked at. Either watch is in my opinion one of the best GMT's on the market. |

I have no regrets owning an SS 2c. I also have a Pepsi and wear the 2c more b/c it's more aesthetically pleasing to me (see all of the above flicks) and b/c it's more practical. However, I'd never get rid of the Pepsi b/c I've had it since new and it is now discontinued. Nevertheless, if I could only choose one -- which seems to be the case for the OP -- I'd get the 2c.

I currently own the TT Black sub, an Omega GMT seamaster 2 (blue Dial and the GMTiic.
Love them all and try to rotate them weekly, problem is I feel sad when it's time to swap the GMTiic! It seems to sit better on the wrist, looks great with my work wear (suits) and casual shorts and vest, can be worn smimming with my budgie smugglers... OK the Sub can too as can the Omega, but the GMTiic just does it better. Regret buying it YES YES YES...... Only because it has made my other 2 watches second tier... |

Regrets with gmtiic? no way..I have owned SS Sub, SS/Pt YM, SS daytona and finally SS gmtiic and this is my daily wear now. Believe me I have tried them all and always regretted except the SS Sub and SS gmtiic.. They both are keepers.
