Not me, I am a huge, huge! fan of the EXII, but not that (IMHO) ugly new development.
Sorry, just what I think...

Not me. I'm content with my Sub-C, and don't really want another Rolex at all. Well, that may change if a handsome SS Daytona with ceramic bezel will be rolled out in Basel 2013.....

I'm excited to see it in person... I wasn't a fan of the older EX II (no offense to anyone) but this new one really has my interest. Part of it IS the 42 MM size, I wish my Daytona was 42. (Hey! Let's start that rumor!).

I'm going to pass, it's to expensive for what you receive. Rolex should have added a stationary white ceramic bezel to make it more innovative instead of just copying an old model 1655 which I use to have. As for the third price increase this year, its said to happen within the next month and half and will probably price many people out of their new models.

I really wanted one of the vintage old styles from the 70's, but then I saw this. White face, with orange writing AND an orange 24-hr. hand? I'm smitten. I want.

But I also want others, and I am branching out from Rolex naturally -- not due to price hikes, but they help. I want a Bremont. I'll check this new Expy II out, but I certainly won't buy it sight-unseen, nor pay any sort of premium price for it.

In all honesty, I'll probably pick one up in 1-2 yrs., after the initial hype. I do love it, though -- but there are so many watches to love.

8K is way to much. I would like a white dial one but I'm looking for a vintage now.

I'll be getting a Black dial, though I have to say another proposed price increase is taking some of the bloom off the lilly. I think this will be a big hit for Rolex as it combines a lot of old and new in an iconic package.

MSRP ain't where it's happening though.

I had my name on a wait list (one of the first) at my local AD where I have purchased quite a few Rolex watches. After a few months I was told that if I wanted to remain on the waitlist, I'd have to pay the full purchase price in advance. I declined to do so.

My other thought now is that it may be a little too much on the sport side for me as a daily wearer. I am now wearing suits more days than not and while the Sub C is no dress watch, it is classic and looks pretty good, IMO, with dress clothing. I am not sure the new Exp II, with its orange hand, etc will work as well as a "go with anything" watch as the Sub C does. Still interested in seeing it in person.

Depends on how that "42 mm wears" if it wears like a Omega Planet Ocean which I wore for several years before coming back to the perfect confines of a Rolex 40mm then I will NOT be buying one...

I've had a few "next and last" Rolex watches.

The Explorer is a niche watch that I happen to like - just never got one because of having a GMT. In fact, the GMT was my first and I have never been without a GMT of one iteration or another since then. I do have to admit however that the new ones have caught my eye but witht he SS Daytona and the DSSD this year - I'd better cool it for a while.

What price was it at before the 1st and 2nd price increase? Anybody know?

Ps. I'm really bummed that it is priced so high as I could easy see this as a daily wearer in rotation with my sub c as I much more often wear earth colors, which I think the white/orange would compliment beautifully.

Thanks

Will more than likely be picking one of these up. Heading towards the black but want to have another look at the paint work difference on the phantom hands that Steve (LOL-X) pointed out recently.

The white is also stunning in person but I'm not 100% on white dial watches.

$8K does seem rather steep. Esp with just Easylink.

I'd rather get another Sub-C
