Hi guys
I'm a lawyer also, i used to practice in Auckland New Zealand, just a block from Mansors. I have just moved to the hot and beautiful Fiji Islands to take up a law partnership. I have worn my rolex to work since day one, i have noticed that ss rollies dont get any attention. Most people think its just another steel watch. Currently i have been wearing my ss daytona everyday. No problems. I have been getting bored and like to turn on the chrono hands to make the watch a bit more exciting and alive, which is one of the coolest things about the daytona. I was at a law conference a few weeks ago, a lawyer beside me had a solid gold datejust/daydate, couldnt tell as the dial was champagne/gold also. I've been trying to do the same thing for 37 years. Still haven't figured it out. All I know is I tried to semi-retire two years ago and somehow got busier than ever. I know I did something wrong but can't figure out what.

I'm an engineer working for small ind oilco in the states.
Started working with this small oil co when it traded @ 6$/sh... and now 4 yrs later it's trading @ 35$/sh.... I'd like to believe I had something to do with it :) :) :) I rotate my 4 rollies: 86 Sub Date, 03 SD, 70 1680 Sub Date, 68 GMT Master. I get no comments at work. With high oil/gas prices rollies are common-place in the oilfield. Regarding merc-benz.... we've got a c230 daily driver and a ML500 family truckster. Only prob was the C230 idler pulley took a dump @ 7K Miles. Thank goodness for the good-ole-German Warranty :) |

I just wish Mercedes were built with the same quality as Rolex. But then again, if it were, it would cost $200,000. You have the 330d? Is that diesel? They don't sell the diesel in the States. I guess we're getting off subject talking about cars. Later |

In over 25 years of wearing a rolex 24/7, at work and play, at most have had one comment. Wear it and enjoy it and don't worry about what others may think. Odds are nobody really cares (except us).

I've been a project manager, a business unit director in a software company, a marketing communications director for a fortune 100, wiped out by bipolar disorder, run my own business and an currently unemployed, and through it all, I've worn a Submariner date. I don't care what others think about it - it's my baby, I love it, and I wear it for me. It's the one possession I really enjoy. Thanks to Tim for working with folks like me. Often people don't realize these diseases are biological and just like Parkinson's or diabetes - the last thing you think will go wrong is your brain.

I run my own software testing and software development company. I'm fortunate enough to work mostly from home but when I do have to visit customers I leave the Rolex at home and rely on the mobile phone clock.
Customers could perceive a Rolex as either, 'We're paying you way too much', or 'His company must be successful and they must know what they're doing, he's wearing a Rolex'. I'd rather not take the chance on loosing work to find out! |

to everybody who responded so far. Talk about an interesting slice of Rolex life. Thanks for the insight.
I guess the common theme here is that eveybody is different with their "job"/Rolex combination. While there are many different careers posted here, we all have one thing in common; we appreciate the art, engineering, style, and quality of Rolex. Whether you have one or are just aspiring to have one.... |

I am a music teacher. I teach guitar privately at a music school and play in a few regional bands that do decent around the area. Don't own my Rolex YET, but soon enough I will save enough to acheive that goal!

I am a cardiovascular RN. I recover open heart surgery patients immediately after they come out from OR. I deal with heart bypass patients, valve surgery, robotic heart surgery, AAA repairs, etc. I deal with almost all lifesaving medications and medical equipments to maintain a person's life. Pretty cool job- not a single day that's the same. I do not wear my Rolex to work at all.

I deal with activities and procedures involving contact with patient's body, blood, etc. I did not want to deal with trying to disinfect my watch after. I don't even wear my wedding ring at work- it tears the gloves when I put it on.

I was in Pharmaceutical Sales for 6 years, was downsized, and now I am a Porsche Brand Specialist. Been selling Porsche and Audi since march and love it.
Wear my watches every day to work and they are great conversation peices with my customers. Most of my clients have nice watches it seems. The cars and watches seem to go together. PAtrick

I'm a US History (I can teach other histories) in a smallish middle TN town. I waited about 23 years to get my watch, I'm going to wear it. I wear it 24/7, and have the tan lines to prove it. LOL

As a computer illiterate, even though I have a good digital camera and have taken a few decent pictures of it I still can't figure how to transfer them to a web site. It has arrowhead style hour markers and gold hands and markers, its really sharp. The date dial is looking old, but then besides opening the back which I've done several times, that dial really lets you know its authenic and older. I'll try to figure it out on the pictures. I've wanted too, but then I haven't been able to yet. Not yet decided if this is the Rolex I'm sticking with or will trade up eventually. Now that I'm hooked on watches I've gotten a Omega Constellation Chronometer from the 1960's and an Omega Seamaster 600 also from that era. They all keep accurate time too. Yea, I'm hooked on fine watches now, like most everyone on here. |

I'm a builder, I love still being on the tools, although I could just stay in the office & let others do all the fun stuff. Because of this I don't wear my Rolex on site, I wear a seiko SKX007J on nato (unkillable).

While I've owned BMWs and Mercedes, my favorite car was my '04 A4 with sport package, althought it was not quattro. I bought the car in Southern California where half of the Audi's are not Quattro. In any case, enjoy your Rolex's. It sounds like your enjoying the job. Where is Larksville? |
