Sweet wheels Dalip! I totally agree with you on the DSG gearbox. I went with the DSG in my new GTI and the speed of the shifts is pretty amazing. I especially love the throttle blip on downshifts.

Also, I notice you are planning a Stage 1...are you going to use APR? Have you had any experience with them in the past? I am sooo tempted to do the Stage 1 + Cold Air Intake on mine, but wonder about the long term affects on the engine. I am also a little bit reluctant to throw the new warranty out the window, but would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm going to talk to APR today Charles....It was the dealer that actually recommended them and told me the stage 1 has no effect on the new car warranty....I'll let you know.

Stage 2 and 3 are different altogether.

I haven't used them on a new car ... only had cars that had had work done by them

Totally agree with the throttle blips...just awesome..and the boom going up through the gears.....brings a big smile to your face

Great to hear you're loving the GTi....the Mk 6 is superb

Very nice. Rising blue is the best colour IMO.
As someone with a car with the same engine (Audi S3) I highly recommend you get the APR high pressure fuel pump, down pipe and stage 2+ tune.
Turns the thing into an animal. The fuel pump makes a massive difference compared to stage 1!
Also don't bother with Carbonio intake, not really different to stock just looks pretty.
(if you want a intake I'm going to return my car to stock to sell so should have a Forge twintercooler lying around soon, or there are plenty of other options out there).

Enjoy the track. I've taken mine out to Barbagallo's a few times and it is a lot of fun. These little hatchbacks surprise a lot of "sports cars."
Plus I'm not stupid enough to crack 200 on the road :)

Thanks for the tips

I have just spoken to APR and they are quoting around $1100 for the stage 1..

Only question about the stage 2 would be to do with the warranty? I guess that goes to pieces?

Stage 1 they stated that for $100 per year they can return the car back to factory before you take it in if warranty work is necessary.

What could I expect to pay for stage 2? And is stage 1 enough of a gain to make it worth it?

got to be focus and quick when it comes to car mods. else you will never get anything done, because you keep thinking what-if.

All year round, get busted doing 30 km/h over the speed limit and the 'Hoon law' kicks in. Vehicle impounded immediately for 28 days + a fine and a kick up the @ss.

$900.00 to retrieve vehicle after the 28 days.

Not a chance

It's all about the twisties and cornering...not straight line speed...

Never got a point in 3 years of the R32....always stay safe Robster and hit the track for some serious flat out fun to fully test the car

Actually there's an AHG track right by the airport...we could take a detour on the way back when I collect you
