I just wanted to add I wasn't trying to be rude, I'm sorry. I was trying to be funny. Apologies to the OP.

and more on topic,

Was paid the DD at 29, and now I'm 30. I expect to purchase my daytona in the next year or two; no hurry. :)

Good to see that when I'm 65 or older I (the majority of us) will finally realize this stupid hobby isn't that important!!!!!!!!!!

In six weeks I turn 65...very hard to believe! Feel more like 40. Have two Rolexes at present: a 1971 Datejust 1603 and a 1968 GMT-Master 1675.

(The avatar photo is of my paternal grandfather taken in the 1940s.)

The distributions are close to what I would have guessed.

The median age is certainly skewed lower by the fact that Internet jockeys are most likely younger in age although I have read reports which claim the opposite is true.

A slightly larger amount of respondents would actually produce valuable data for Rolex. It was at 453 when I posted. Get it to 750.

You might want to document your poll. Create some tabs and offer to send the results to Rolex for some offer-in-kind goodies. Monetize it! Maybe a new dial or bezel or some such. lol

Not kidding.

how I got to be 49 before my first one

Always wanted a Rolex and when working in the offshore oil business in 1983 as a 21 year old, all of my buddies bought one as we were travelling through Singapore, but I didn't as I was saving for my first house. Fast forward through 28 years of life happening and I was finally in a position again to get one, which has resulted in buying three different pieces from the great sellers here on the forum in the past 12 months. After not being able to find the right preowned one for my wife, pulled the trigger at my local AD yesterday for her first, a 179174 with black diamond dial. It will be a gift for her 47th birthday this Friday
Cheers
Wayne
