I prefer the Milgauss. I'm actually looking to pick one up or maybe an Explorer. I've never been a fan of the Explorer II.

If I were you I'd go for the Exp II. I went for the GV cause I couldn't pass up on the deal. The Polar Exp II is likely to be my next one. That is if I can keep the Skydweller at bay.

My next purchase will probably be a white Milgauss. Either you love them or hate them. For me I love the Milgauss line. It's a sleeper watch it'll go unnoticed unless someone truly appreciates a fine watch. I've had mine for just over a year and love it.

Exp II but with a black dial, just like what is on my wrist right now. BTW, the lume is better than good.

So today I walked into my AD and tried on these two pieces, I was leaning GV until I put it on against the EXP II; the latter wins. It had nothing to do with size just presence on my wrist and hands down, the Explorer II wins IMO. Now to make my deal!

The GV. It's a work of art.

Was having the same exact debate months ago when I popped into the AD, went ExpII and haven't looked back, although I am looking forward to picking up the GV next!

I voted Explorer II. However, Milgauss is cool and looks better if you wear formal clothes to the office.

Very tough call. If your stable only has a couple watches i would say Polar Exp due to its diversity. If you have plenty that GV is a tough one to pass on. I think its one of the best looking rolex. If you already have a Sub i would do the GV hands down.

Hard to make a decisive choice here. I know the Exp II is among the more popular in the Rolex line, and Milgauss is considered funky. The Milgauss case is simple and sturdy looking, and the dial and hands are fine, it has similarities to the Explorer I, save that weird seconds hand and orange accents. The chunkiness of the Exp II doesn't get my motor running, although I'd go for the black dial over white. If I vote for one, it would only represent the one I dislike less.

I saw the old explorer 2 today in 40mm size. First time I've ever seen that watch. It is so much better than the new model. Everything is just perfectly proportionate. That said I think the gv is a fad watch and nothing more. So very reluctantly I say go EXP II

GV all the way. Uniquely designed, and the only Rolex watch to have the green crystal.

I have both in my collection. Love them both. But if push came to shove I would say explorer II. You already have a black dial, go with white. It's the flip of a coin. Can't go wrong either way. Good luck!

Explorer II, it's a great watch (with a date) that goes with anything.

if it's gonna be first or one Rolex, then exp2....
if you have many black dial sport watches and looking for the first white dial, then exp2 if you need the date and gmt function, then exp2 if you already have many rolex watches, and looking for a particular watch from Rolex to make your collection nicer, then GV

When I first decided to buy a Rolex, I thought that I'd only own one. So I looked for a watch that I could dress down (shorts and t-shirt) or wear with a suit. I decided on the Exp II because it was one of the most versatile in the Rolex lineup.
Go for the Explorer II.

Gotta go with the Exp II (however, I like the older gen 40mm better).
