I have seen a handful of threads talking about something running fast/slow and the springs needing to be changed out, but there seems to be a handful relative to the amount of AP owners that are browsing the forums. I’ve had 5 APs and have been extremely happy with the experience thus far. The AP community has been great, and I’m lucky to be somewhat close to the AP boutique in NYC that I can drop in and chat with the staff there.

I’ll also mention that from what I can tell, they all seem to be minor fixes, and that AP takes care of it right away. I’m also hearing that typically if there’s anything “off” it’s usually from new and once it’s fixed, the problem doesn’t appear again.

Personally, I think these minor things come with the territory. I have friends who have had issues with their Pateks as well. It seems like with the Rolexes, Omegas, etc., they rarely have issues but that’s also kind of like saying you can basically say buying a Honda will give you a very reliable experience whereabouts driving a Ferrari or Lambo may have some quirks from time to time.

I was an engineer in college so I know a little bit of statistics. I have no dog in this hunt but if you want to do it right, you need to calculate the proper sample size. You can't just say "30".

I think this thread ran its course. Pointless discussion with nothing to be gained. If anybody is unhappy, they should just sell, trade or what not and let everybody else be.

Amazing collection Heru!

My two cents, we usually form our opinions on brands based on experience. That might not be the actual experience you have, but others might have better experience. Even if AP statistically has a higher rate of defect in the initial period, if vast majority of the buyers are content with it, I don't see a problem.

Thank you Ben. AP always be dominant in my collection, because of the look, finishing quality and customer service.

AP customer service has always been outstanding for me (parts, service and le brassus visit) I currently have 4 APs and one (diver) is running fast. I'm sure AP will resolve this minor issue. Since I have to send my new APs in for the 3rd year warranty I figure I will wear them and if any warranty issues surface so be it since I have to send them in for pressure testing anyways.

being new to the forum, I must say I was naive to think how great a brand building job a brand has done to nurture the many die hard fans. now I know some are not just fans but have interests to not only be forgiving but straight out supportive.

alles klar

I don't know how forgiving I am but after four weeks without an AP on my wrist I can't wait until I get home tomorrow!

No, trolls are trolls. It has been made abundantly clear that you've closed your mind and eyes and made your choice, kemosabe.

Stick with Rolex.

Adam
