I lurked for a long time and to be honest it was the PEOPLE inside TRF. I think this is the most amazing group of people who all happen to love Rolex just like me.

Nathan, very nice of you to offer this!
I joined this forum shortly after I bought my 14060M, my first Rolex. Prior to purchasing, I found TRF while doing my research. I was so impressed by the amount of information on here that as soon as I bought my Rolex, I had to share it here. Since then, I've learned more about this brand than I would have ever thought possible, met some awesome people both online and in person at the Boston meet last spring, and am in the process of buying a couple watches from some great TRF sellers.

That is very kind of you, Nathan and a great gesture....
. ..How and why..- I cant exactly remember when or how I got to be a fan of Rolex, maybe from the Bond movies or from F1 in the '70's ..but I was hooked...and always wanted a Rolex since then. Didnt have the coin. In the early 80's my wife surprised me with a K/O from Asia she had a friend bring back from a trip and gave it to me for my birthday. She said, 'Someday you'll get a real one". - 20+ years passed and I was getting 'itchie' for a Real Rolex..and started doing the Google thing. Up came - "Rolex Forum" .. so I clicked it, of course. Lurked for a bit..but had questions.. So, I signed up in Feb.2010. -Started reading, searching, replying etc..and checking the FS section...to see what was out there.. learning the 'ropes' sort to speak. Now, the search was on for my Real Rolex. After lots of searching, checking AD's ..(almost bought one in Port while on a cruise..) and some serious consternation, I finally desided, "If not now, when". - So, I searched and search and finally found what I wanted, and bought my Rolex from a trusted seller here on TRF - 5 months after joining TRF, in July 2010. The best 'Google' search I ever made...!! - It is fun to be here.. -and don't regret it one Iota ..!! Thank you TRF .. . . Can you tell the difference...??

Great gesture!
To answer your question: Those of us suffering from Rolex watch insanity like to have company to commiserate with. Originally, I thought this was a support community. Am I mistaken?;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free |

Nathan, I joined as I needed an education over and above what I already knew. You don't get flamed if you have a Breitling or two. Some have both. TRF is a lot more active than Breitling Source too. Enjoyable here

What a nice gesture! I signed up in gratitude for all of the knowledge I have gained from so many here and of course the fun of the virtual hangout with like minded individuals.

Great gesture Nathan and thank you! I joined because I was interested in purchasing a Rolex. After all the responsibilities of paying bills and raising children I could finally afford to purchase my own. My father had a Rolex when I was younger and I always admired it. The time was finally right for me so I lurked around for about 6 months and gained a lot of knowledge. Been here ever since.

Thank you for the nice gesture! I joined TRF as I was getting ready to purchase my first Rolex and wanted to get more information on the different types of Rolex watches. In the end I went with a TT black sub.

Thanks Nathan for your generosity. I joined the TRF when I decided Rolex may the next one for me. Coming from a plethora of luxury watch brands, I never really gave Rolex a thought due to my ignorance of it possibly being the more "mature person" (older) crowd watch. Then I discovered the DSSD and the bug bit. I enjoy this forum not just for the Rolex watches but for the members who share the same passion as myself for the other brands, panerai, pp, AP, Hublot etc, and am astonished of some of your collections! Everyone here is helpful and friendly. Thank you.

I had no idea what i was about to get myself into when i joined TRF. At the time, I came across TRF when i was doing some research on two vintage watches i had heard about called a "Red Sub" and a "Blue Snowflake." LOL, little did i know it wouldn't be long for some fantastic TRF friends to come along side of me, educate me, and make me so jealous of their beautiful collections.
And now...have made more friends on here and my wallet is a lot lighter after growing my collection. |

Nathan - great gesture!
For me, TRF was an obvious choice. This is the most friendly place to learn and share a passion for Rolex.

What a generous offer, thank you on behalf of the entire TRF community and the gesture itself is typical of what makes this forum so great. That and the strict enforcement of the policies to keep it the nicest forum on the internet.
As an avowed WIS I started lurking in 2011 to be better informed for my first Rolex purchase, which ended up being a TT DJ from an AD. I had been properly informed as to how to negotiate and what was realistic to expect, and I did not buy on 'last dollar discount' but included the niceness of the AD and his family store as well. Now I post and read to continue my avarice for all things Rolex. Now I've got a Tudor and plan to get a Rolex for my dear wife some day soon, sooner than my own 2nd Rolex! |

I was a life-long Omega wearer, until I fell in love with the history behind the GMT Master. Everything else just fell into place. Thanks TRF!

Why TRF
I've been looking at Rolexes for some time. Bought a couple. But once I saw a pic of a vintage root beer one and completely fell in love with it. Needed more info. Looked around and found this awesome site with all the info and great people.
