Ditto for the Rolesium YM I with a beautiful blue dial. And don't forget - when the GV was first introduced, the rush to buy it combined with the mistaken belief that it was a limited edition sent its price as high as twice the MRSP.

IMHO, what's at work here is the fascination (or desire) for something new and to own it ASAP. In 3-4 years when the novelty has worn off, the blue/black GMT, blue YM and the blue Milgauss GV will probably not be as highly coveted as they are now - they'd be replaced by new, attractive variations that everyone will be talking about and coveting.

Personally I think the combination of colors on the new GV doesn't work as well as the original, but Rolex is in the business of selling as many watches as it can, and to do this it has to offer as many attractive options as possible. The new GV fits that bill nicely.
Very well said.

I would have already owned a GV if it had a date.

I don't like the Azure blue on the new Millie.

If I had to choose one of the two I choose the first GV black dial.

If I ever want a Milgauss I would buy the Omega version because of the yellow/black dial and lower price.

I still like the black and green. For me the blue dial did not smile at me.

i didn't think it was possible, but, i appreciate the GV even more now with the blue one out. i just think rolex really nailed it with the GV, while the blue seems just too much.

the GV is understated cool, while the new blue doesn't feel as timeless.

anyway, this is all based on a few pictures. i'm looking forward to seeing it.

on fence but erring towards blue.... infact I think I'd prefer smooth bezel blue sunburst DJII, but..... the markers on the Mili are more proportioned IMHO ( which is why I flipped my DJII in the first place and went 36mm )

I voted fence sitter for now only because I haven't seen the blue yet. Some photos make the dial look to light while others really hit the right spots.

I'm a fan of the green, just gotta see the blue in the flesh.

Love the new blue dial! From pics alone I would choose the blue over the black.

Any GV is a fad, might as well get the "new new thing" and go with blue dial...

I have the black but the blue is super cool. For the sake of fun, blue is the way to go. Black for more practical days where you don't want your watch to be noticed.....as much.

I do not know about the bias of black GV owners, I have one and I like the blue. Maybe even a shade better. I will have to go down to an AD to compare.

I just received a message from my AD here in Canada with an expected delivery of late June, early July for the Blue GV. The AD told me that they got this info from Rolex Canada but who knows...

IMO, it's all about the unique green crystal which positively GLOWS against the black background .

With the new dial , that bright blue color takes precedence and the green is sublimated and recedes into a secondary feature

For this reason I voted the black dial GV.

You also noted the GV is the anniversary model, however that doesn't mean much in terms of being limited. It is still being sold. In fact the original black dial version with the clear crystal has apparently been discontinued.
Agree 100%. I owned the GV and have the same feelings. I wish the blue dial just came with a clear crystal. I kind of get that the green sapphire is becoming the trademark so to speak of the model but I think the new Milgauss might have too much going on. I also get that is the intent. I think the green crystal really works with the matte black dial. I think it would have been good to pair the green crystal with a silver dial. If income back to this piece again I think I am either gonna go white dial or GV.

Agreed and I'm usually a blue dial fan. Still having trouble with the polished center links, although with a polished flat bezel, it is harmonious albeit a scratch magnet.

Although I'm intrigued with the blue, it's a bit much (for me, ymmv) in a daily professional setting. With my black dial GV, I've received countless positive comments when a friend/associate/etc. happens to notice the subtle interplay between the green glass, black dial, and orange accents. It's as if the watch exudes the unusual without screaming from my wrist. I know my own psychology reflects only my own feelings and thoughts, but, for me, the blue dial — while really fun and unusual — almost calls out as if it's trying too hard. The black strikes that perfect balance on my wrist.

I used to own the black dial and loved it. Sold it in 2012. I just bought the blue dial the other night and love it. It's just more fun for me, IMO.
