damnit, i really want one of these now. these seem to be slightly more in line with the size of my Sub vs a PO but have all the styling aspects (not as bulky, broad arrow) and modern accouterments that i love about the PO. this would be a great daily for me and for situations when i dont want to risk damaging a vintage Rolex. i just cant justify paying more than $4k or so for one of these. i guess ill just have to wait until people start selling them secondarily.....

At 6k, this watch really is underpriced. Quality wise, I'm sure it's on par with the 116610. In some ways, you can even argue that it's better. At $2500 less than the Sub, I'd say it's a pretty good value.

retail is what....~$6200? you have been able to get 20% off MSRP with some haggling. that means people are out the door under $5k with one of these, if the discount is there. to knock off another 20% of a used watch doesnt seem out of the realm to me. that being said, buying this new in somewhere like the Caribbean at 20% off MSRP without tax is very tempting.

Oops, I don't know why I compared this watch to the 116610. It doesn't have a date function. $6700 vs $7500 (114060). Hmm.... Both watches are pretty close in price. With a good discount, the Omega could be worth it for somebody who really enjoys the design.

And the lines tighter It seems to wear smaller over all. I didn't really notice any issues with the long lugs... it will more readily fit in with a suit than the PO |

This is excellent news! I was a bit concerned with the width. It basically sounds like the perfect watch.

$6600 USD for the SS, $9000 USD for the titanium. Saw the price list for these two, don't know about the Sedna version.

I have one from '66 and the patina is my favorite part of the watch. Call me old fashioned, but I think patina is something that should be earned over time, not created in a lab.

Tried these on a while back, the watches are making the rounds around the boutiques. This was in Houston Galleria.
My conclusion, I want one, even more than an 114060. All the stuff everyone says they don't like is exactly what I like. My favourite is the tt, followed by the ss. The Ti in blue looked odd, I'd prefer if they actually flipped the colours, ss in blue and Ti in the black, but I understand this is Omegas Ti colour. It fits a tiny bit larger than a Sub and finally Omega got the message, it isn't hockey puck thick, comparable to my Sub LVc which I wore that day, 1mm thicker maybe. The pcls are fantastic, love them....this watch isn't a "tool". Stop kidding yourselves, I never understand this train of thought, who is the lumberjack or dive master that specifically is waiting for Omega or Rolex to make tool watches they can take to work. It is however based on a tool and has credentials to prove it, just like a Submariner or GMT2. This watch also seems like it will look incredible on straps, which Omega is making for it and the new Speedys. Why Omega hasn't released this is completely retarded. Hopefully it doesn't translate into first production run gremlins as this is a completely ground up new movement. I'm impatiently waiting release and it is my #1 next watch to buy, but if it isn't released yet, it will become number #2 but I will buy it, it's that good to me. |

This!!! was the sedna gold model. OMG
Definitely my favourite, by far....yeah because I'm a construction worker/jack hammer operator looking for my next tool watch. I even like the look of this dare I say more than the gold Subs but would need more comparison time. It is absolutely decadent and incredibly balanced on the wrist. The gold had an amazing feel, the ss/Ti models were cool when picked up, this had a neutral "warm" feel on my wrist and felt smooth against my skin, like it wasn't metal....weird right....yes that is the difference, gooold. |

PS: these were fully operational/functional models, not mock ups.

Thank you.
I think you're going to like them better in person. I hear a lot about the aesthetics of this watch but people have to remember that this is essentially a reissue of the original, the pcls are probably the biggest visual change as everything from the white seconds hand to the lugs to the bracelet is influenced from the original, so if you don't like this one visually then you don't like the original either. I didn't like the lugs and the white seconds hand looked out of place, when I saw the original next to it as Omega displays it half/half on their website, I then saw the significance of it's design. Suddenly it all makes sense. Now I really like the watch, even the "tan" lume which no one seems to fuss about on Pams. |
