An amazing story that I'm sure we have all been following through the updates. In order to save the story for history, I think you should type it up again in story form, telling us the details that we might not have heard before and completing it in full. More detail about the divers and how you guys searched would be cool to read about. What a story you have to tell your children or grandchildren when you pass your watch down the line.
I think you have a certain family heirloom there following on from this.
Congratulations again.

Following this saga is what got me addicted to this forum. Congratulating you is what finally drove me to post something. Fantastic news - my wife and I were reading your original thread with great hope. (well, I was reading it to her)

When I first red your initial post, I was under the impression that there was no more hope to get your watch back after your professional divers friends searched the river in vain.

But obviously, you're not a quitter. Congrats, that's a great story, this watch is definitely yours.

This thread and it's original predecessor have been like a Rolex soap opera and a real nail biter at that. With all the frustration, and hope, and more frustration and renewed hope again, only to end with even more frustration... then suddenly and unexpectedly with a happilly ever after ending out of the blue...it's like It's a wonderful Life the Rolex version...hahaha!!!

So tell us...was it in fact the metal detector that signaled the location causing you to feel around at that spot?
