I agre on tying on as many as possible and see which one makes you smile. It could be a platinum piece, or a stainless, makes no difference as long as you are happy!

Submariner (date or no date) and GMT-2 would be my suggestions based on your budget and lifestyle. If you plan to travel often, the 2nd time zone of GMT-2 will be helpful. IMO, Daytona is a bit flashy and it's over your budget. I am assuming you are buying new.

I have a small wrist size and as well and was concerned the maxi-dial of SubC would be too big. I went to a local AD and tried it, then bought it. It looks perfect on my wrist and the new bracelet feels very comfortable.

BTW. I bought a no-date version. In the AD, the saleslady wore a white Daytona and it was gorgeous on her.

All I can say is what I did for my 50th birthday. I bought a 50th Anniversary Sub LV. I liked the symmetry and the watch.

I would say 166610LN. Date function is a must in my book. The GMTIIC is kind of blingy. A Two-Tone sub would be great and can be had for your price, but draws attention. I'd say go visit an AD that has a large selection and spend some time trying on the different models. Good luck.

How many of us buy specifically for our 50th? I think it is a perfect excuse. I did.
As for which one, the one that you don't have!
Cheers.

What do you want? For my 48.5 I have the 116719 incoming. I'm sure I will flip something for my 48.75, 49, 49.25 etc....
