Rolex knows this. The "Blueberry" will replace the BLNR.

So no, don't flip anything for the BLNR. You will regret it.
You got anything to back up your claim that the BLNR is the "official flipper of the Rolex line"? There's a lot of love for the BLNR on here and I'm having difficulty believing that.

They're quite difficult to get hold of in the UK. None of this waiting list nonsense, but you have to shop around. Here in Singapore, they're pretty scarce and demand is high so they run above retail.

OP, I would add if at all possible. I wouldn't do that flip.

He's been posting this nonsense on a bunch of threads related to the BLNR. He clearly has some weird hatred towards the reference.

I've always been a diver watch guy but there's something about the BLNR.

Plus for me it's more comfortable

Yes. I would do it in a heart beat. I don't see a purpose of SD in the Rolex line up. I have a DSSD and a Sub. SD is not a horse, not a donkey. Something in between. Get rid of it.

I'd choose the SD over the BLNR if you can't or don't want to add a 3rd. Better proportions, no PCLs and glidelock are 3 main reasons. Not to mention you can release the helium out of it when you diving down a couple thousand feet.

I have both too, and my only 2 watches. For a while I was completely happy with both, rotating them daily. But then I caught the Speedmaster bug again (traded in a Speedy Pro hesalite a few years ago), and the Speedy Co-axial 9300 has my eye, so a watch has to go (3-watch rotation is not an option). Which one? Bye bye BLNR.

I just enjoy the simple Rolex diver look of the SD-C, the slimmer lugs and the Glidelock. BLNR is a fantastic all-rounder, but with a bit more bling (though I brushed the PCLs, looks way better IMO). And after having owned 2 GMT Master IIs, I am not completely sold on the GMT-function for travelling. Both are equally comfortable, but in the end, the SD-C is the keeper. Good luck with your decision.

It seems that Rolexsmolex is the one who was banned twice in TRF by using the other names ("Submariner" and "King's Crown").

Go for it! That BLNR is just an amazing piece to add and IMHO makes a perfect complementary piece to the much dressier DD40, which I also love...

I am not a fan of the PCLs on most of the newer models, so I would stick with my SD4K. But I'm a biased SD4K owner.

Of course, if I was a frequent traveler who would benefit from the GMT complication, then I could always purchase a nice leather strap for the BLNR that mitigates the PCL issue and achieve serenity... until I read the next SD4K post.

If you only have 2 watches, then no. Otherwise, the GMT would be more comfortable / lower profile to wear (every day)

Tough choice. Too bad you can't have both. The cal. 3135 in the SD4K is a classic, but so is the cal. 3186 in the GMT.

Perhaps you have to decide on 1) comfort and fit, and then on 2) dressier (GMT) or sportier (SD4K).

Good luck.

I would be more inclined to bend the rules and make it a 3-watch collection.

Both the SDc and the BLNR are great watches, so it just comes down to which you like and is the more useful to your situation. I probably wouldn't, unless the GMT function is important to you.

Or...take the BLNR out of the equation and look at a mint or LNIB LN...these can be had for very reasonable prices these days and add it to the SDc and the DD.

No. SDc is more versatile (all black) and does not have polished center links, both huge advantages in my opinion. While the GMT pre ceramic versions are extremely comfortable, I've not ever had the chance to compare the current GMT line on the wrist. Have never been a fan of the case/lug design of the new ceramics, again, another reason I'd keep the SDc. It retains as much of the old style case and lug shape as possible while still getting the newer upgrades like ceramic insert, maxi dial and glide lock, along with solid band.

Nope. The SD4k is a much more comfortable watch to wear IMHO. I flipped my BLNR for a deep sea and never looked back.
