I find it hard to believe you'll find a blue dial 5711 at any AD, all of them have (long) waiting lists. I've been to that particular AD a few months ago and they weren't too keen on adding any names to the waiting list even. You might be more lucky with the white dial, saw one in stock a month ago at one of the PO ADs

In HK, there was an AD with a blue 5711 for sale on the window display. They are around in HK...

Sold by now. I went into everyone of the AD's 2 weeks ago both on Island and Kowloon and they basically laughed when I asked. Lots of black dial 5205 and interestingly my 5524 was a huge novelty to them as they hadn't seen it in the metal

Don't doubt it. When I saw it was several months ago...

Haha.. nothing like getting laughed at by the salesman when offering to hand over 25k USD for their product. Some of these ADs in HK clearly have been too spoiled by the boom times of the last few years. I don't get the feeling that their waiting lists are too long, but rather that they'd cut some side deal with a local gray market trader for when one does come through. Probably explains why like 4hk gray dealers have it listed on chrono24.. Or maybe I'm just a cynic!

Never seen any blue dialed 5711 on display at any Patek dealers in HK, especially Times Square and major tourist areas. Forget about seeing it, even putting a name down is not possible. The only time I ever saw a steel 5711 is white dial in Singapore ADs. All these people saying they have seen 5711 on display must be high on some stuff. At the very least post some pictures.

Sometimes the 7118 looks like the 5711 if it's sealed and you don't notice the different date window. I have made that mistake a few times with cursory glances

Yes, I found it hard to believe too that they offered it to a walk-in customer. I passed both times as I have one already. Just want to check the availability. The last time I went there in 2015, the sales told me, "if u don't take it, it'll be gone in an hour."

My other favorite line that people fall for "we JUST received it a few hours ago"
