It's interesting to document your experience.

I went into the mall to get a battery in my TAG, which was eating batteries for some reason. I was covered in dirt, wearing nasty clothes, and red wing boots from 1991 covered in sawdust and horse manure. I had spent the day in a machine shop and lunch schooling a couple of horses.

The TAG dealer gave me crap about the watch. So I walked in to the Rolex AD and bought my first and was gone in 10 minutes. The lady at the dealer was wonderful.

2 weeks later I walked in with kids and bought my wife a watch. Same AD, same lady.

Think I turned down a bottle of water. Did not go there for swag bag...just a watch. I really dislike going to the mall.

This.

Perfect!! You sound like me. Not a horse guy but certainly not dressed up. I hate malls too......

Yeah that wasn't exactly the experience I would have hoped for... and it certainly could have been a bit more enjoying.

I recently bought a 5$ piece of fabric from a lady and my experience was a lot better...

Manny

I share your puzzlement. I think it is all down to social media and the urge to let a mainly uninterested world know what you are up to.

I took my wife out to dinner last week and a young couple came in and took a snapshot of the restaurant. They then sent the pic off to facebook. They then took snaps of the menu and the starter and then the main course etc etc.

Personally I found it all rather amusing if not a little bit stupid.

Of course you could say we encourage this rather stupid trend as we are subscribing to a forum where watches are shown on holiday, in the car, up a lamppost etc etc.

It is just a sign of the times I am afraid.

Regards

Mick
