For DJs I can handle both; btw do you mean 36mm or 41mm DJs? Sub and GMTs for me are five digit watches sue to the case sizes.

Was there a 5-digit DJII? I was speaking of the DJ36 and my preference for its 6-digit version. I've never liked the DJII for the lack of a Jubilee. I won't consider the DJ41, either, until it is offered in SS/WG.

I have 4, 5 and 6 digits. I do find that I wear the 6 digits more often than the 5 and the 5 more often than the 4.

That being said if I find myself a GMT II with lug holes and a SEL bracelet, that might become my #1 daily wearer....

Sometimes, I look at my two-tone GMT and think about trading for a newer model. There is something about the smaller crown that bothers me when I see it next to the new ceramic model.

I have exactly the same comment about the smaller GMT crown.
Why did Rolex equip the GMT with a crown that looked undersized?
Maybe they simply did not consider the GMT as a "pilot watch", meant to be operated with gloves.
I was happy to see that it was corrected in the ceramic version.

Prefer 14060, 16220, 16570 and my 14270, over any current models out. I'm happy with ALL of them and will keep 'em till my last breath.

That is such a gorgeous watch. No comparison to the 6 digit reference in my opinion. Keep it.

Erm, the GMT was invented as a pilot's watch but in the jet age when pilots had long stopped wearing gloves.

Twinlock vs. Triplock, really. The bigger crown existed for additional water resistance which, logically, probably wasn't deemed necessary for a pilot's watch.

When I started with Rolex, bac in the '70's I got a 4-digit and later some 5's. I kept renewing them as to get the better crystal, the fast date, the solid end links, etc.

Mistake. These watches were the best !

Now I have a 4 ( 5513 ) and a 5 ( 16700 ) and will remain as such. Lug holes lover !

Even the wife's is a 5 one.

Daughter goes to the 6.

As a Porsche lover, the 5 vs 6 digit debate reminds me of 911s. Despite the technological superiority of the newest model in nearly every regard, if I was offered either a 993 or a 991, I'd take the 993 every time.

X2 The 16750 (which I still have) was my constant companion until a 1675 was shown to me. It went on the wrist and over a year later it is still there.

I own 4's, 5's, and 6's, but I would rather wear one of my 1665's over any of the other watches, or my 5513 when I need something to take some abuse. My ceramics come out when I'm getting all dressed-up........and that isn't very often.

I buy my watches to mark special milestones in my life. I am not the one to flip watches. I buy them, love them, keep them.

The end.

I have both and love them for different reasons.
I don't want to "upgrade" my 14060M for a 114060 as the 5 digit makes me smiile every time I look at it and put it on. Go for the ones YOU prefer.

The crown on your TT won't dig into your wrist on a cold day though.
Th one on my 14060M does when the watch is on its bracelet as I can't easilt shorten it. I'd prefer the smaller crown if there was a choice.

I couldn't agree with you more my friend.

It doesn't get any better than this IMHO.

5 digits for me and loving 4 digits too. 6 digits are very big and modern IMO. I prefer the classic style and keeping all them like new if possible! I never buy thinking in sell later so I don't mind to clean, polish, brush...whatever I need to keep them in great conditions.

Having owned both five and six digit references, my preference is with the six digits. Easylink and especially Glidelock clasps seal the deal for me.

Love my 5 digit sub, no interest in the newer model. At the same time though, I love my 6 digit DJ

I like the 'finish' of the ceramics but usually not the colour.
Love the new bracelets.
Not keen on new sizes and chunky shapes.
You can't have everything it seems so on balance I will stay with the fives.

Of the 4 watches I own 3 are 5 digit references. I just prefer the simplicity of them. Mostly brushed finishes and light bracelets. For me, those are the watches that really drove my interest and appreciation for them.
