Well let's hope that they can produce a couple of references that actually work....

Icon14 Limited edition

What is considered a limited edition. Excuse this amaturish question. Would it be in the case of the 40th anniversary: 10 pieces , 40, 100, - would 1000 still be considered limited.

Announcing Highlights From This Fall's 'Nautilus 40' Thematic Sale From Christie's
Christies
Patek-philippe
Auctions

Wednesday September 28, 2016

We were the first in the world to tell you about a Nautilus-only sale taking place this fall across four cities, and as we promised, we're now back to tell you about the most interesting watches in the sale. To recap: there will be 40 watches in total – 10 in each city, offered at the tail end of each of four larger sales in Dubai, Hong Kong, Geneva, and New York. Let's get into the highlights.

If you talk about the original post where I posted all the 5070's you can read somewhere that these aren't all mine. That group shot was possible because I have friends who had all the other references.
It took a very long time before somebody got the 5070G ... that was the last missing piece

IF it is for example a steel 5711 with a only a major modification ( little inscription for the 40th anniversary on the dial , no hand for the seconds and a may be a more bright or more dark dial) ..... even 5000 pieces would not be enough.

So 1000 will be a disaster and most will not be able to get one

Personally when I think LE, thousands don't come into the picture. Otherwise don't limit and have it as a normal production piece and just play with production figures. The AC was a 20th with no LE, so will be surprised if the 40th is LE but the. We will all know this month!!

You are too modest, you also have a 5131 which is only allocated to the PP elite!!

rumours are that there will be 700 made in platinum and 1400 in stainless steel.

I am guessing that the P could be for boutiques and the SS for AD's

Not long for the big reveal...

That's not nice Lapince.

You bring up your incomings in every thread you post (ironically even in this post LOL), then those that might get a limited edition Anniversary 40th you say you don't give a crap?

Hmmmm....

And Lapince, about those thirty threads you mention, nobody participated in them more than you did. Besides, if taking pictures of your new incoming is so distracting how can you find time to post in this thread. Nothing happening in Zurich due to all those closed roads?

I could never wear a piece with dated years listed on it.

Too bad, otherwisenit would have been a home run.

Is the blue dial of this Anniversary model the same deep blue dial color of the 5980/1AR? That would be a nice colored dial matched with an all WG case and bracelet. LE quantity of 1300 is a good number, the same as the 5575. However I don't think it will be quite as popular as the 5575.

I don't think pricing is unreasonable as it is in line with the 5980/1R pricing. But even as the 5980/1R was a niche market watch, the Anniversary WG chrono Nautilus is not for everyone, but for die-hard Nautilus fans. I applaud Patek for their strategy of releasing an Anniversary watch model that the Patek afficianados will appreciate, but not necessarily appealing to everyone.

So what will the other Anniversary piece be like?
