I just acquired a watch, saved a good amount, and was thinking a bottle of wine, chocolates, something to say thank you. The thank you is due in part because they give me the same level of service and courtesy as they do their A list customers (this is an AD in NYC, me I'm just a normal dude haha). Just want to make sure our business relationship is duly noted....

Some here may say "every dealer should give you the same level of treatment, if not walk out" but I've bought a A LOT of Rolex's over the past couple of years and this AD, situated where they are, gives far better service than T__eau and one other AD I have done business with.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
i ordered my AD a $25 pizza 2 years ago for lunch.

save the fancy stuff --- they're regular folks after 5pm.

I think if you want to do something nice just to take care of them that is a good gesture, but if you are trying to butter them up it is a mistake...it may get your hopes up for next time and that person could always leave....I feel like the ADs near me have high turnover

Everyone loves edible arrangements. Who can argue with a chocolate dipped pineapple star on a stick.

Than God tipping is not widespread in Australia, although I always throw something significant into the 'tip-jar' at my local Cafe because the staff work for peanuts (not as bad as the States, however)
I DO make a habit of phoning/emailing businesses whose staff provide superior service.
I have just emailed the manager of the local hardware store whose delivery guys not only unloaded a pile of turf for me but helped carry it up my steep driveway - which was well beyond their brief but a big help to me.

I realized I responded without answering OP's question

At most, I'd bring them coffee (as pictured) with some donuts and paper cups

What's a peanut ? I have 2 friends that work as bartenders on the strip in Las Vegas hotel. Anyone wanna take a guess what their hourly wage might be ? You'd might be suprised.

If we limit the scope to non high-end establishments, then Rock is probably correct. Starbucks baristas start at under $10 per hour in the US, whereas Australia's minimum wage equates to nearly $13 ... but, as you point out, US retail/hospitality compensation isn't always low and not everyone makes peanuts

Got it. They (bartenders ) make 18.10 per hour. Full medical, dental and vision if working 30 hours a week and 4.50 per hour into the retirement plan for a total of approximately 30.00 per hour. Plus cash tips. After 10 years they're fully vested in the pension plan

Baristas are probably not a career full time type job but the Culinary Arts and Bartenders are Union and can make a very good living to have a nice home and put a few kids through school. in any event if everyone's happy going to work and have fun all the better.
