Just to add to your quandary, I’ll suggest that you don’t shut your eyes to the Vacheron Constantin Overseas 49150s, in particular the 350-piece Ltd Ed version...http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=452386
Even though it comes with both leather and rubber straps, you’ll want to budget another $2.5K for the bracelet – which is a must have – less whatever discount you can negotiate. Same F. Piguet 1185 base calibre as the ROC, but with in-house big-date module. |

I have a 25 year old Seiko that will definitely get you under the radar like nothing on the market. Buy the AP & we can swap.

If you want a chrono get the iconic one. Daytona in this case.

Completely agree - the Daytona is much more under the radar than the AP. I've got a Daytona and a 15400 and the bracelet on the AP is more eye-catching in comparison.

Great question, I too have been deliberating whether to flip my Daytona for a AP RO.
If you have a smaller wrist like me I would go for the Daytona. 😎👇 https://www.instagram.com/p/BNHXy-Pj...=mr.cosmograph Last edited by Mr Cosmograph; 23 November 2016 at 12:15 AM.. Reason: Original link wasn't working. |

I would imagine it makes a difference where one lives. In Dubai, I'd guess that AP is a bit more of a known entity than it is here in Oregon, US. Non-watch people here probably would just think the AP is from a department store.

I'd go with the Daytona500.
I'm unabashedly biased in favor of Rolex, but I think my reasoning is sound.

Under the radar??! Like a german shephard jodling in the Cenral Park. These are two LOUD wcomfortabls.
NOTHING under the radar or so bs I had a RO, black dial. It was like walking with a loaded gun. It was sooo loud, that I had to set the Jimmy Hendrix: Peace in Mississippi from AP homepage as my ring tone ten minutes after wearing it to match I once saw a man wearing a RO Diver... from the other side of the street But somehow I saw the man himself as well and thought cool, the man pulls a RO Diver summertime on the street with polo shirt and sandal. He may like fine watches. Behind a Daytona I usually don't even see tha man.... ooor woman.. khm.. except Elle, Paul or Dieter of course I usually see people wearing Daytona to be noticed. I resist... but the watch is nice and comfortable. Buy it, wear it in good health proudly and LOUD |

I don't think you can go wrong w either choice, if you have a job that is likely to beat on it I would go Daytona but if more of a desk type job ap. The ap wears larger and heavier, it feels like a piece of jewelry where as the Daytona is just functional. For myself( smaller wrist) the Daytona bracelet feels better, the ap on me is fine but the case extends beyond my wrist ( on the far side) making the bracelet alittle less comfortable. The price of a nice ap roc is in the price range of a pm Daytona. Good luck

Daytona. I'd go the other way if it was a 15202, though.
