Hi,

I feel the need to ask what exactly are your "roots"

I just wondered WTF gives you the right to call one of the iconic timepieces of all time plebeian............

By the way I am offended......apology not accepted.

Mike.

Just an observation: an opinion that a watch looks "plebian" is more topical than asking for prayers and mentioning Jesus (which posted as a recent thread), or many of the other non-Rolex/watch-related infusions that occur regularly here.

I'm not sure if the poster is trying to be a troll or not, but as a Sub owner and assuming the poster is not trolling, I think it's a valid observation which may be rebutted by those who think differently.

Understood. My concern is discussions like this often become sniping matches.

At that point it ends.

Why would anyone get offended? I own an SS sub, and everyone is entitled to their opinions... I don't care if someone doesn't like my watch or thinks of it as pleibian... or whatever that word was

Sam..

Plebian is Latin..... It simply means "of the common people".

It is also a term (plebe) that is affectionately used to refer to first year cadets at some Military Academies or in Boot Camp..

However, in some parts of the world words can have vastly different meanings than they do in other parts of the world, and simple words can be seen as personal insult or attack..

We'll recognize somebodies right (if there is one) to be offended... But then too, we always look for intent...

Doesn't seem like there was any intent to offend anybody here.........yet...

When that happens, as Mike said, some action may need to be taken..

Hi,
Check my posts I have never disrespected any timepiece (I have a DSSD on order) and resent the implication.

Regards Mike.
