Who else has to set their watch precisely on the minute marker?

Absolutely. Hack second hand at 12, set minutes hand dead on a round hour plot and use time.gov to set exact NIST USA eastern time. OCD, and proud of it.

Considering these watches are far from accurate and would require daily adjustment, I see it as a complete waste of time. My watch is set once a month and gives me a relatively close time reference. If I want something more precise, I look at my iPhone.

That isn't to say I don't t have OCD tendencies. My cupboards have the contents lined up perfectly, bottles and cans are labels facing out. My t-shirts, jeans, and sweaters are folded using a folding board and sorted by color. My dress shirts and suits are hung in the same direction and sorted light to dark and my shoes are tied and cleaned before placing back into the closet.

Far from accurate? It sounds like you're watches need to be regulated. My Sub runs +0.2 seconds per day.

Your automatic watch is +.2 (2 tenths) per day? That's on par with a quartz and not typical of a mechanical watch.

Even then, if we're talking abut precision and OCD tendencies, the accuracy of a mechanical watch doesn't meet that criteria which is why I don't bother

Yes, +0.2/day. It's a 114060 and that rate is if worn 24/7 and averaged out over one week. I'm fortunate in that I have an excellent technician at my dealer and was able to work with him to get to that point of accuracy. It had been running +1.3 and I asked him to slow it down one second, +0.2 was the result.

As for your OCD tendencies, all I can say is fair enough.

Two or three seconds a week either way is not unusual. Most of my Rolex and Tudors will keep to that, or even better with overnightt positioning. And keeping track of, and admiring, a movement's performance is, for me and many others, part of the pleasure of owning a mechanical watch, not OCD.

Funny thing. I set mine on the minute with the second hand on 12...and in sync with the atomic clock...

But every other timekeeping device I own other than phone and laptop is set 10 minutes fast...
