Congrats on your marriage and watch! I was very surprised at how many shops sold rolex watches in Tokyo when I visited. Very good experience.

Congrats on the marriage!
Going to Japan as well this coming November and will be looking for 114060

Ive looked at some of the recommended sellers website, the prices seem to be on the high side, are they actually cheaper in-store?

On housekihiroba the price is 910,000 tax included, kinda high for 114060 right?

And are there any recommended sellers in Kyoto or Osaka? Thanks!

I’ve never seen prices higher. I mean I guess that makes sense in general with Rolex as price increases etc.. but Japanese love their older GMTs and Subs. I don’t see the ceramics flying off the shelf here. The prices are high though.

Congrats and thanks for the story, it is amazing and very useful.

I also would like to go to Japane one day and would be much grateful if you could advise on the following:
- Is a local FX rate of Dollar reasonable or it would be better to buy Yens outside of Japan?
- can I sell my pre-owned watch without box and papers there?
- is a warranty card of BNIB Rolex issued for your name or others?

Many thanks on advance.

Rolex Japan sucks.. They will send you the warranty card separately.. But with all the typing errors. And Rolex, such a big name, doesn't state any contact emails, for you to give feedbacks. They want you to waste on costly international calls to contact them on any issues.. Bad experience with them, will not buy another Rolex in Japan again, which actually I intended to make another lady rolex purchase on next visit, before this issue..

I have bought 3 New Rolex's in Japan from grey dealers and I got the warranty card at time of purchase. Anyway this is an old thread and as we know prices of SS sports have shot up everywhere over the last few years due to limited availability. If you check out that Kame Kichi store In Japan on the net now they are asking 1,053,686 Yen ($9,500) after the 8% sales tax has been deducted for a New SS GMT.

Congrats on the marriage and your new Rolex. Thanks for the update on the buying situation in Japan. I also got lucky and picked-up new pieces for both my wife and I in a Japanese AD a few months back. I also found the quality of service we received to be if the highest standard - a stark contrast to the experience in some of the Australian ADs I’ve visited recently.. I’m looking forward to next years ski trip!

Wow. It is great to me that other members still comment on my 1st thread almost 2 years after I posted it. I was lucky enough to get the GMT at that very good price right before the crazy shortage and price going up at the moment. Hope everyone can have good experience buying Rolex in such a lovely country. If you come to visit Japan but can not buy that watch you want, do not worry, I strongly believe that the foods there shall not disappoint you!

Advice needed:)

Morning,

Im going to Japan pretty soon and looking to buy a rolex. I have checked few website and forums for some input.

Any tips from some experts are very welcome:)

Some tips around:

Good shops (pre-owned/new) to go to in Tokyo (Sinjuku & Shibuya).

I saw if you pay with cash sometimes the prices can be lower. (How can you extract such a big amount- more then 8 K for example from an ATM)

Noticed a post of somebody who bought a Rolex sport model for 720.00 yen which is a fair price at Kame Kichi. Noticed all around that some of the prices are still quite high compared to Europe or Dubai. Any feedback on this.

Anybody tips around who to check if the rolex is fake or not (Im not an expert so....)

Thanks!
