I say BLNR for that price $ 8539 new, is a great deal! The BLNR is a lovely watch and would give mad respect if I saw a lady wear one. Then again I would try to get both.

BLNR will always be there, not hard to get at all currently. Before I traded for gold sub, I walked into the AD and walked out with it minutes later and at a discounted price too (not hard to get). The 16710 is much harder to get in these times and people are paying a premium for them so I think that's the obvious winner here.

I cannot help but feel that 16710 is a more versatile watch, minimally in terms of its more traditional size and the facility of changing bezel inserts to suit the occasion, mood, or as you have put it "flavor."

I own a BLNR and a 16710 Coke (but swap bezel inserts now and then to go Pepsi & Black).

I love both but I always side with the 16710.

My choice would be the 16710 pepsi and then put it on a jubilee bracelet.

I was thinking the exact same thing... Seems trying overly hard to sell herself, and appears very fishy.

That's not true, numerous members were able to swing a discount (albeit a small one) on the BLNR

Calm down Sir , I come from a Global-South Asian country ( I prefer this term rather than using the phrase 3rd World country ) , one of the non industrialized emerging Tigers of South East Asian nations. We have some of the lowest retail / premium prices on Swiss branded watches in the world and I can understand this stark reality does come as a surprise to a lot of my Western colleagues.
The Malaysian Ringgit currency exchange rate is really weak against all major currencies of the world in the last 2 years , the Malaysian Ringgit is currently trading at RM4.50 against the Greenback , making Malaysia a shopping haven for all luxurious goods incl Swiss branded watches.

The Malaysian tourism sector alone contributes 16% of the GDP and things are really freakin' cheap for the foreign tourists . My Singapore friends on the forum would grudgingly agree Swiss branded watches are now relatively cheaper here compared to prices in their country and Hong Kong.

I should like to add that if a tourist purchases say...A Rolex timepiece in Malaysia , he or she is entitled to a 4.8% refund of the Goods & Service Tax by filling a GST Refund Scheme form and submitting it at the Immigration upon departure ( All prices in Malaysia subjected to 6% GST )
I'm not here on the forum to perform a sales pitch for Malaysian Rolex Watches. Sir , I can show you all the proof you need but this is really unnecessary. All I wanted was the Rolex members honest opinions on Pepsi vs Batman. That's All !

Please do not drag this thread to another direction and I 'm really tired , trying my best to answer everyone's questions so I'm done here.

I have made a decision. It will be the Rolex GMT Master II Ref 16710 B D serial with the Error Stick dial

I've learnt a lot from you guys on the TRF so Thank You So Much . God Bless You All !

Hey I remember you from the omega forms, I posted that pic with the unreadable text on the back of a Rolex Gmt, you said it looked like DNA to you, I'm surprised you got banned you always where very helpful, anyways welcome to TFM.

I own a 16700 GMT master 1, as much as I love the watch I just can't help thinking I wish I had a modern GMT Batman, the newer rolex models just feel so amazingly well built, where I live at the moment a brand new Batman costs $7900 straight from the dealer and are readily available. The only reason I haven't bought the Batman yet is because I really thought a modern coke was going to be released this year at Baselworld.

If you want a classic piece get the Pepsi if not go for the Batman both are great choices the only downside to the Batman is the polished center links just with it was all brushed.

Best of luck and don't get yourself banned here too!

Megan in the real world their is no such thing as the error dial only in internet hype. All it is a simple font change nothing more and many so called error or stick dials have a cal 3185 in the case also many stick dials have the cal 3186.

Megan here are my 2 cents: I really like both watches but i currently prefer the 116710 BLNR. That is not to say that i will not prefer the 16710 tomorrow .
I read you chose the 16710. I say you can go wrong with none although on a girl's arm a 16710 would look a bit more balanced and proportional. So your choice may make sense on that ground alone.
Enjoy the watch and wrist shots or it never happened!

FWIW, I've seen the BLNR $1000 US below retail in several ME boutiques. The DOH boutique sold one to a colleague for $7500 US last summer. Deep discounts on sport models can be had for those who hunt for them.

Post up pictures of your 16710 when you have it.

Fell in lust w the BLNR immediately when it was first announced at Basel but snapped out of it just as fast when saw it in person. Don't think it has the aesthetics's profoundity that I was looking for.

BLRO 16710, on the other hand, continues to to dazzle after years of ownership. Over time, it'll even get better with fades and patinas.

You made the right choice. Welcome to TRF

Anyway moving on, I've noticed a huge increase in BLNR availability recently. Both watches are amazing, if I could have only one, it'd probably be the BLNR. But if there's ever a possibility to own both, I would definitely get the 16710 first, then add the BLNR later. I think it would be much harder down the road to find a NOS Mint condition 16710.
I confer with what you are stating here, every time I speak with my AD's I purchase from (Boston, Wellesley, Maui) one or more always have a BLNR on-hand. I met the Rolex USA CEO at a golf tournament last August. Someone I work with at CBS is a Rolex Ambassador who introduced me to him and his associate. They were interested in my small Rolex collection and I told them that my next Rolex would be a BLNR or a DSSD, depending on availability. The associate told me the BLNR was much more readily available than the DSSD.

I wonder how i will be able to utilize the knowledge of DNA and Chromosomes I've learned today, meh, only 15 min of my life i'll never get back.

Welcome tho, sounds like fun, maybe.

Word of advice: If a guy named KENT in Chicago says he can service your watch and return it in a cpl weeks don't believe him (or pay him up front). FYI

16710 first. It is a legendary piece in my eyes. Besides, it is more balanced in size, variety of combinations if you have the three bezels + jubilee bracelet. Enjoy the trip, the hunt is often half of the fun!

Plenty of women on the forums that don't feel the need to mention it (or the model part). Can tell from the profile pic normally. In the end we are all people. Regardless of gender, we all like watches.
Welcome to the forums!
