Smart advice. I picked a thin hand version of the previous reference. It seemed to be the best mix of zenith model looks and modern updates. Eventually I'll own all three.

Thats the beauty of SS Daytona, there's absolutely no wrong choice!! Any SS daytona is a bulletproof choice.

IMO the last gen is much more capable of dressing up than the Ceramic. It depends where you want this Daytona to fit in your collection. Don't get me wrong though, love them both.

I'd say go for ceramic. At least thats my opinion. Sold my ss daytona with the aim of getting the ceramic one.
The bezel on the ss is a scratch magnet. Its fine for some people but not me and thats one of the reason sold it.

I paid near the same money for a spotless WG Daytona with a more interesting dial than a ceramic Daytona. More than anything I am happy to be different to many. I don't think there is a bad one so enjoy, I just cannot get my hear around paying $1,000's over retail or waiting a lifetime to get one...... but to each his own. Sorry not a great picture up close, but I now have to go back through my old photos as downsize them, so need to send them from computer to phone, resize on app and send back to computer.

This is a better one just taken,it is different to many, more sporty less dressy, but similar price to SS Ceramic new.

Buy the newest model you can afford, unless you are going vintage. With vintage, get the best example available. Same with Porsches, buy the newest model you can afford, unless you want vintage.

A steel Daytona always seems to be a safe bet (not 2 tone, not gold). If you can somehow get a ceramic at the MSRP that would be my first choice, my second would be a Zenith Daytona and the third would be the modern non ceramic...oh there is a 4th Daytona option but only if I win the lottery...
No one can predict the future on value though the steel daytona seems to be a safe bet for now:) Buy it because you like it. |

Go classic 116520. After the euphoria dies down for the ceramics you can easily flip it for. A Daytona c if you so choose. The 116520s are skyrocketing in value right now so the sooner you pick one up the better. Hers mine...

Personally I love the new ceramic bezel version....but I also love the 16520 that I own.
I would swap it for a ceramic if it was possible! I would attach a photo showing a comparison between my 16520, my Zenith De Luca and my 14060M but I haven't got a clue what it means asking for the URL of my image?? The De Luca probably attracts the most compliments, which some may find surprising and the 14060M the least, but each to his or her own....If someone can explain what the URL malarkey is I'll upload a photo. |

It's just an updated bezel but they're very different watches. Justifiable owning both, but i prefer the 116520 by a very small margin

I prefer the Ceramic model based on looks and how it holds up as a daily wearer, but you can't go wrong with either.
However, if you really want to get a cool Daytona, try and source a 6263 or 6265!! |
