I wish I had the time. I bought my first brand new car back in 2004. It was an Acura TL and is to date still one of my favorite cars. I used to wash it twice a week (at least lol). I was quite obsessed with it.

These days I simply don't have the time or healthy back to clean my own car, unfortunately.

95% of the time or more, mine is washed by me. I'm too particular to pay someone else to do a half a$$ job, and I love a clean truck. I actually enjoy the process and find it somewhat relaxing. The times when my trucks have seen a car wash have been few and far between. I also enjoy waxing them, although it's time consuming on a full size 4 door truck or Tahoe/suburban. That doesn't happen more than twice a year.

The wife's car I also wash often but she will take hers to the wash sometimes, depending on our schedules and what's going on.

I like to wash my truck and my Wife's van myself when I have time. It's probably 70/30 me and the car wash.

I have an old car and two harleys in the garage, those I take care of myself. Two 10+ year old daily drivers sit outside anyway. Those go through the car wash once a month or so. I do the interiors myself. Don't like people nosing through my stuff!!

Local detailing companies that come to my home or office. I haven't washed a car in decades.

I usually wash my own, but do take it in for a professional detail once a year.

I used to religiously wash my car every weekend. I now delegate that job to an automatic carwash. Incidentally, this actual car wash broke down last year for a few months, thanks to some idiot drove in with his ladder strapped to his ute. Check out the news clip:

We're mixing it up. Sometimes the drive trough, but much happier with the job the dealer is doing (MB Manhattan), then a couple of times a year I have a detailer come by and the rest of time it's a Kärcher treatment in the driveway. After the last one, my wife commented how the car feels like new. Keeps me in a nice relation ship with our wheels and appreciate the sheetmetal we keep driving around (kinda like I prefer to mowe my lawn, which happens on occasion as well).

Why did he think that was a good idea? lol

My friend went through one of the auto ones that feeds the cars through. The truck in front of him had a fishing rod/reel in the bed. The brushes grabbed hold of the rod and reel and then beat the side of my friends BMW. Shattered windows and bent panels!! Not fun!!
