I’m ocd about a lot but the crown thing does not bother me one bit. I kinda like it the way it is. It’s the way it’s designed and is in no way a defect or quality control issue unless the manufacturer designs it to always be straight up. Rolex does not care where it lands. Now hands not lining up or dirt under the crystal etc is an issue.

I know the OP was joking, but for anyone not knowing, you can have your crown aligned 100% every time, if you want to.
It's just a matter of figuring out when to start screwing the crown, if you do it at the right angle, it will get tight/stopped exactly lined up. If that fails, unscrew, wind it manually to rotate a bit to compensate the error, repeat.

I don't care for it that much, but since I only adjust the SubC every two months or so (for the Date) I tend to align the crown.
I though you were joking my crown was upside down when screwed down and it does not bother me obviously .But for fun I grabbed my sub c date unscrewd the crown then turned the crown anticlockwise half a turn then screw down the crown and boom crown is facing up fully screwed down lol nice 1 .now everyone can have there crown facing up now if they want

I can't get the crown to face any other way.
