I love the LB but those are just two really amazing watches that have an incredible presence and beauty in their own right. They don't really hold a candle as individuals to the LB but as a pair they are a very dynamic and flexible set. I love the LB but there are times that I just would not want to wear something that costs $35k or that has a bright blue dial.
Regrettably, I would prefer the two. However, if the LB is a dream watch, or you have other ss Rolex models in your collection than by all means, full steam ahead and trade up. I would give those two up for any number of Day Dates. |

I would!
The heft and feel of a precious metal Rolex beats stainless steel for me every time.

At the end of the day, do you rotate watches a lot during the month or could you be one of the folks that can wear one watch, or two, for a long period of time. That's how I would decide. I personally like the Smurf a lot and envy your opportunity.

I wouldn’t personally. I’m also not obsessed with the Smurf.

In my opinion, the hulk is over-rated, the BLNR is a bit more wearable, recall not too long ago these pieces had only average appeal (esp the hulk). I'd make that deal.

Thanks for all the input guys. Its amazing how opinions are split 50/50. I am actually very tempted to trade for the 116619 but i worry about having to liquidate at some point. WG pieces are notorious for being very difficult to shift.
IF i did the trade I'd be rotating between the 116619 and a 116500... |

I think I would move both Sub Dates and add the 116619LB. Personally, I prefer WG to YG, and I'm not all that crazy about the LVc.

Had my smurf for about a month now and loved every moment of it. So glad I did not settle for something less after a decade of yearning.
The only trouble I have to deal with now is do I next add a WG Daytona on OF or do I get a WG Pepsi....#firstworldproblems Sadly there is no going back to SS now I have my first real PM watch. Tried my mates SS Daytona the other day, and was left disappointed. Obviously my vote is for the smurf. |

No definitely not for a Smurf.
However if you had asked to trading in on a GMT 126715 the answer would have been a resounding "YES!" 126715.jpg

I actually had this and just sold it. Absolutely loved it, fantastic watch but too much money for me to have in a watch. The Smurf is 10K less...

If you need to trade these two in to afford it than absolutely not. Looks like you made the choice based on the liquidity of the SS vs PM. Good call!
