Like I said off the bat, this is just my point of view. This thread is to understand and not offend anyone.
All of my friends love this reference by the way. |

I love my BLNR. Lusted over it since it was released and was finally able to acquire this year. I think the GMT is a fantastic complication, and yes, I use it often. Love the quickset hour while travelling.
From the technical side of watchmaking, don't forget that the BLNR was the first watch to have a dual color bezel made from one single piece of ceramic ![]() All that said, there's a reason Rolex has SO MANY options to fit the tastes of everyone. As much as it's sacrilege around here, prior to the ceramic bezel, I'm really not a Daytona fan. "shrug" |

So the guy, sees his parents demise, blames himself because he wanted to leave the theater early. Spends years lost and without purpose. Then decides to help prevent others from suffering the same fate. He invests in his body, training, and the best technology available and becomes a symbol. A symbol of crime prevention and justice.

I just checked the latest numbers from a thread I started not long ago...and the results speak for themselves:
Total votes: 357 BLRO - 127 BLNR - 124 CHNR - 52 LN - 54 As many mentioned, personal preference is subjective.

I agree! Quit hating on the Batman. He is a cool dude. But a doctor, who was looking for a cure, now turns into a giant green monster every time he is under emotional stress, how is that a superhero? I don’t get it. He just needs a hug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess it's the modern pop of colour immediately following the 50th anniversary edition with its green bezel (leopard and rainbow watches excepted). It was also the first watch in the world to feature a bi-colour ceramic bezel. The watch is conservatively quirky.

Doesn’t need to be hyped.
Why some love it and some don’t needs no explanation. To me, it’s a stunning watch. That said, thank God for choices and varying tastes. |

Lots of reasons to be drawn to the BLNR. Not for everyone but it’s certainly a piece most would enjoy.

I was thinking of an Ln for awhile but it seemed a little redundant due to owning a SubC, then my AD called me last month to look at a Blnr which l bought. I'm glad l have it now, it's better in person. l was never a fan of PCLs but my Milgauss changed that but l would be OK with a brushed bracelet as well. If l was a one watch guy l would have went with the Ln. I enjoy the Blnr, l know it's a keeper, it keeps getting better now that l actually own it.

The hype is recent and will pass, the quality of the watch is not as transient. It's a special piece.

![]() It’s the less dressy half of my two-watch collection. I really enjoy each and find I wear the BLNR more on weekends. Neither is leaving my small collection. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had the BLNR for a few months and ended up flipping pretty quick. After living with it for a little while something about it started to turn me off. I think it may have been a combination of the chunky numerals on the bezel with the very vibrant blue (which is admittedly beautiful in it's own right.) I dont know how else to explain it other than it gave off a somewhat juvenile impression.
That's just me though, and I completely understand why it's so popular. I moved from the BLNR to the GV Milgauss, and I'm sure many have the same opinion of my watch that I have of the BLNR. It's quirky, and with the lightning bolt second hand, that will surely be perceived as childish to some. It's all good! Different strokes for different folks. That's one of the great things about this hobby. |

I just posted in the other BLNR thread but I th8nk it’s worth repeating ... IMO the BLNR looked better in pictures than in real life. A great reference for sure, just not for me.

A friend of mine is clearly of the belief that his BLNR is superior to my 16710. I'll stick with my 16710, he can stick his BLNR.

What you mean is 'personally, I don't like it', because going by the data and number of fans that are speaking up on it, I don't think they 'missed' anything. It's quite the opposite - it's a bonafide 'hit'.

I don't like it because it always makes me think of this silly comic book character, gives me the cringes

Fair call by the OP. Internet hype has a lot to do with it. I love it although it’s not my all time favourite. It is up there though.

Somehow, i agree with OP. Ironic. Since visually, the BLNR appeals to me. And i was thinking of getting one.
Chanced upon three SS GMTs at a reseller yesterday while my wife was shopping. Since i had nothing else to do and since i have not tried one in the flesh, i tried on the BLRO, LN and BLNR. Even a couple of pre-owned subs. Was also curious about the BLRO. The jubilee doesnt appeal to me. But a fellow collector told me that i should try it on first before passing judgment. Dunno if i was inebriated or what. Or am used to my trio already. Was wearing my smurf yesterday. But none of those that i tried on jumped at me. Was actually underwhelmed. In this hobby, to each his own i guess. It didnt help that the BLRO was selling at usd20.7k, the BLNR at usd14.2k and the LN at usd9.2K. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't either...
Personally it's a very dull watch with a pointless GMT feature. I mean who needs a GMT feature really? We all have mobile(cell) phones. You need to know local time... also... who cant plus/minus x hours? The point of a watch in this day and age is jewellery plus convenient time checking. Anything that makes that harder to achieve is just pointless. Busy watches, 4th hand for no reason. Not my taste at all. I also majorly dislike the Daytona... But again that's my taste. I even don't like the Rolex Submariner, far too ubiquitous for my taste. Although, I will say the Kermit/Hulk do hold a special place. There the only variety of Submariner I would touch. I'm a DJ man... or a Cellini But this is my opinion. I fully accept not everyone agree's with that, and some people love them. But that is why Rolex make lots of watches... |
