Just wondering - there doesn’t appear to be a seconds hand since i only see the hour and minute hands & the power reserve indicator?

These versions (the original versions) 7027 do not, I do not think that it needs one as you see the balance moving and know your watch is working.
The 7097 has Rétrograde seconds and is automatic.

This blue one was custom made by JR in NYC as well.

I have had great experiences with "A Collected Man", although they don't have gator options. But they're a great option for suede, calf, etc.

I believe the following:

1) See the cut out track for the retrograde seconds?

It is 3 minute markers wide. So, the minutes can be read exactly since one obscured minute marker is defined by the right edge of the track. The next marker is defined by the dot of the seconds marker in the middle. And the final obscured minute is defined by the left edge of the track. You see? Nothing is missing.


2) If this is true, then I am apparently the only person on earth not working for Breguet to notice this. I've pointed it out to owners and they were like "Huh? Oh!"... Maybe you noticed it, too?

Anyway, I like it when watchmakers do things that way.

This is a lovely watch and the blue dial adds a lot while maintaining the elegant sobriety of the look. Super and like the other watches of the Breguet tradition line, an ode to mechanical watchmaking's past, present, and future.

I think it works - I have a few different straps for my Breguet. Actually just ordered some fresh screw pins and a new matte black strap from Breguet the other day. I’ll post pics when it arrives.

I have the yellow gold 7027 and have a dark brown, navy blue, burgundy and soon a black strap. It all works -

I do think you may be the only one ! I may not be the ideal commentator on this as I can’t say I’m paying as much attention to Breguet as other brands, so I most definitely did not notice it.

That said, now that we see it it’s a great detail. I’m wondering if others have dealt with similar cut outs in the same way. Do you know?

Well, thanks to my OCD, I have noticed something similar in the way sub-seconds dials can be handled! When the sub-seconds dial intersects with the primary minutes track, then the seconds dial can be sized precisely so that the seconds mark of the subdial can be read as the minute mark where they overlap.

Charles Frodsham does this in their Double Impulse Chronometre where two of the larger 5 second markers of the sub-dial meet the minutes track at a minute mark, I imagine Breguet and others have done similar things.

It’s something I now need to look out for on other pieces. God knows we see a lot of cramped dials with sub-dials squished together. If on closer expectation there was more thought put into those cramped dials that initially meets the eye then I guess more credit it due than may have been given.

Will be joining the Tradition club soon. Pulled the trigger last week and the WG version should be here this week. I am huge on open heart watches and have been looking for the WG variant for a while now.

I nearly sprung for a brand new one with the retrograde seconds feature but this was priced too well. :)
