DavidSW still has not posted any more Batmans for sale. I guess he is carefully weighing the market. Will be interesting to see where the final price ends up.

The original batman has quickly cemented itself in rolex history because of first multicolored ceramic bezel, new color combo on GMT, steel GMT on oyster which they are fading out to jubilee except on PM. Collector’s item for sure and I plan on keeping mine irrespective of market value.

Agreed! Neither does a BLRO or DaytonaC...

Neither is a blue 5711 really worth 50-60k but unless you pay up there’s no way you will get one in this market. You can say this about nearly every luxury item whether a watch, an exotic car, a Birkin and even overvalued real estate.

But that doesn’t change the fact that if you want something now you have no choice but to pay the going market price.

Hahahaha

I saw that. i had to triple take on that asking price. I feel sorry for anyone that will pay those prices for a BLNR

Its not even discontinued but a newer updated model. Its just insanity

It all comes down to supply of new models. Only Rolex can control the value of the BLNR1. I am happy the BLNR2 came on a Jubilee. I think this will help protect value of the original.

I figured all the flippers and must haves would be selling the older BLNR for the new offering.

Today I’m offering my BLNR MK1 dial and clasp stamp version 1 for $50,000.

Don’t regret this offer in 6 weeks when the clasp stamp v1, (blnr version of flat 4) becomes highly sought after!

On the one hand, they didn't discontinue BLNR, they UPGRADED it which is the worst case scenario for those who invested heavily into BLNR.

On the other hand, the upgrade is aptly named "Batgirl."

They didn't upgrade it, they just updated it. But, agree nicknames are the worst regardless lol

Why is a better movement not considered an upgrade? 70hr versus 50hr reserve?

“With 10 patent applications filed over the course of its development, this self-winding mechanical movement is a consummate demonstration of Rolex technology, at the forefront of the art of watchmaking. Calibre 3285 offers fundamental gains in terms of precision, power reserve, resistance to shocks and magnetism, convenience and reliability. Calibre 3285 incorporates the Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex, which combines high energy efficiency with great dependability. Made of nickel-phosphorus, it is also insensitive to magnetic interference. -Rolex.com”

The new 3285 movement is an upgrade over the 3186. The better power reserve is testimony to this.
