It’s the summit of Rolex watches imo. Iconic, you’ll most likely not lose a penny, and looks great on your wrist.

Cheers! It’s more of a feeling of relief too. It’s on the wrist and enjoyment days starts clicking now. The thrill of the hunt was pretty interesting as well but there was a bit too much frustration at times to just get a shot at buying a watch...

I understand how bad the Rolex steel watch market is nowadays. Still, I am kind of surprised how you were not offered a Daytona by either the local or the new AD despite making a few purchases. If you don’t mind me asking, what did you purchase from the new AD? Did he offer you the black Daytona or any other hot sports models like BLNR or Hulk? This whole situation is really sad.
Happy to share some quick facts. I keep my collection small to about 3ish (3-5 watches) at a time. I bought a Explorer 1 for my daily last year at this particular group since they offered great service. They explained policy for various watches so my colleagues and friends in conjunction bought a lot more than a handful of watches as referrals and under a single profile to expedite this process. I and we (one main friend who wanted a BLNR) were not offered any “hot pieces” as the majority of the purchases was under their “professional line”. Apparently it now has to be from the non professional lines regardless of metal.

... so DJ, DD... at that point I gave up on the fuss and went to the trusted reseller who I bought from before. I told my buddy to stop trying but he’s still hopeful of a BLNR for himself. Nothing against the AD, but even if I went through the hassle of having others or myself getting those non professional pieces I bet the policy would change again. The service good but the policy was BS. No worries, I just went somewhere else haha.

Fair play! I'm sure many more on here go grey, but just don't admit to it.

Congrats , wear it in good health. Dealer premium doesnt matter at all on Daytona C since the market price is never getting close to the list price. At worst scenario the second hand price will be 20k... Plus going with grey you are not wasting your time with your money in the pocket by calling&visiting ADs to put you in fake waiting lists etc.. Good job.
