Martin is a top bloke and is a straight talker and I would agree some of what he has written has got lost in translation. Martin does have a dry and very English sense of humour. Ed has handled the whole thing very well.

Thanks Earl and may i add that my discussion with Martin last night left no bitter taste in the mouth at all!! I have been around English people for the most part of my adult life and being straight talkers as well as having a dry sense of humour (as the other Martin pointed out) are some of the qualities i appreciate and that are indicative of many English fellas!! I think Martin is one of them guys and not for a moment did he become arrogant or aggressive last night! Most importantly he did not point at any member in particular. He just expressed a view in a straight manner and he did so in a very humourous (imho) manner.

EDIT: By the way i am laughing loud whenever he posts a joke on the joke section...especially that last one he posted....

I think that Martin makes some valid points.....And his last 3 posts in this thread seem very "tongue in cheek".

What people seem to forget is that TRF is a genuinely Global forum,and as such needs to have strong moderation,or else someone will always be whining about something.

Gun/politics/Race/Faith threads go downhill rapidly so they are nipped in the bud.............Fair enough..............Chill it's just a watch forum (credit Larry)

Trolls are removed quickly,sometimes a shame (OK, I found Archie42 very amusing) (Sorry James)

TRF does have a unique "feel" and I could not agree with Dan more, "better sweet than sour"

Finally,to Martin I like your posts and hope to meet you in the future...

There is no denying that TRF is the best. I learn something here everyday. For instance, today I learned what the word "malakas" meant.

I travel to the UK and Europe several times a year and I've never heard anyone use that word!

So yes, there is more to this forum than just watches and people patting each other on the back.

I work with a greek long time ago and when we call him malaka he didn't smile.

But that is 30 years ago, maybe it's more accepted today.

On another note, I've been reading JJs posts for two years now and just recently googled "tosser"

Maybe we should All work on JJ, "malaka" seems such a more polite way of addressing "tossers."
