Exactly they probably would change their minds and not even sell it at retail to you if you’d ask for a discount! Lol do you realize the state we are in?

No asky no getty.

Never hurts to ask politely. I seriously doubt any person in sales can honestly be offended by a buyer asking for a better deal. If you are rude about it or pushy, sure.

Ask or you will never know but in today’s climate I doubt you will get any break

I mean, I guess anything is possible, but you're asking a lot and I don't see the point in haggling a few points on this. If you can't afford $8,100 for a watch then maybe buy an Omega. They're willing to drop like 30% right off the top
Affordability is not the motive here. I think it's fairly priced and I have the means to purchase it as I have a well paying job and all my finances are in order. That doesn't mean that negotiations are off the table or that I wouldn't enjoy a discount. Who doesn't like saving some coin especially when just 3% equates to a wonderful night out in the city? Does everyone haggle because they can't afford something? I wouldn't say so at all

The verdict is in, I will pay MSRP and ask for some swag which I don't see as unreasonable. Thank you all for your feedback!

AD's by me will discount SS DJ41's but has to be on their terms. No cash and no credit card. Has to be a bank wire.

I was going to ask in my purchase but I was so surprised at a GMT coming out of the back, we decided it wasn’t worth it as we were lucky enough that day.

Plus using a card over cash netted us a ton of points that we actually use so there’s a few hundred in value there.

My thoughts exactly. More shocking are the responses that are feeding into the asinine question Lol.

Simple ...got less 5% on two DJ41s and the Blue TT Sub
I didnt ask on the Sub/DateC, BLNR ,SD43 ,Black SkyD.I thought it would be in bad taste.
I did ask on the Expl Polar 42mm, but didnt get anything.Fair

Know your market when you shop Rolex ,

I actually just did that, Lexus dealer didn’t have a silver “all options” NX300h. So he ordered one with all options checked, he asked for $1,000, upon arrival we went back and forth on price and got to where I needed to be.

Third car from him, so we both knew how the other does things and are OK with hit.

I ask, even though I know I won't get one.

1,2,3 in your scenario are all possibilities. #4, not so much.

Of course you ask! Everybody asks: ‘Is this the best price you can do?’. On everything from watches to cars to houses to clothes to furniture. On everything.

Now in your case, it sounds like you already negotiated the deal: pay full price and here’s a deposit. It’s hard to negotiate after a deal’s been struck.
