Looks good Baz.

Being a little more than a little experienced in these matters.
Just looking at the first pic, it well and truly appears as though you could have put more build up into the deepest part of the repair. It looks just a little under filled.
Just to save you some work on the polishing component of the work.
A few pics into your post showing the polishing part, it also looks like it was fairly evident there was a lack of build up in one little area you welded there.

A couple of questions if I may?
Firstly, does it take very long once you're set up?
Secondly, as it has been reported previously on the forum but unconfirmed to date that RSC's may be engaging in this aspect of repair/refinishing case damage.
Is it the intention of Rolex to make it a service that has limited availability, or is it planned to roll it out to all RSC's over time with a view to making it fairly routine as deemed to be required? Or even by request?

Good job
Thanks for sharing

Now we can look forward to all the "Never polished, never WELDED" posts....

But, it is a truly amazing technology that opens up many pieces that would be relegated to the dump/parts bin to being restored to their former glory.

Thank you very much for your insight I'll try to add more material next time I still need a lot of practice.

It doesn't take long to get set up, only a few minutes.

Any AD (with on site watchmaker), independent, RSC, can buy a laser machine and Rolex will supply the right wires for welding. It is up to the specific workshop to decide whether they want a laser for the shop or not.

Very nice I would think gold would be easier to laser weld.
