Some PM oyster bracelets do come with ceramic. I stand corrected. Pardon my ignorance.

Yellow gold and only ONE??.... Then it's gotta be the DD... it's such a classy and iconic watch, plus that president bracelet?? OOF, it's such a heavy hitter and in years to come you'll be so glad you chose it. Don't get me wrong, Sub is amazing, but imo gold sub is great when you have more than one.

But in all seriousness, what a choice to have. No matter what you choose in the end, you've earned it just promise after all this that you will post pics the very minute you get it!!!

DD in white gold was my choice and still is my preferred. People who know watches understand and those who don't just see another watch. I'm 84, very active but could not see myself wearing the YG sub, just too much bling. But your lifestyle may dictate otherwise, the choice is yours and not what someone else thinks. Good luck in your decision and may you wear it in good health for many years to come. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone, everywhere.

I went with the YG Sub over the DD40. I had the budget to get either one. But I'm a sucker for Rolex blue sunburst dials, and no watch does that better than the 116618. The
DD40 is a beauty, but for me it was a bit underwhelming compared to the YG Sub, so I had to go with the iconic Sub
Would have been a tough choice but I agree with your decision.

I’m 33 and was in the exact same position as you last year. I ended up going for the DD 40 with white Roman face. Up until a few months ago, I recently lost some weight, the watch fit perfectly. Unfortunately, I am not between link sizes and waiting for my AD to get a 1.25 link in to try. If after the new link the DD40 still does not fit right, I will be trading it in for the YG Blue Sub. I love the President bracelet and how it hides scratches; glidelock on the sub is money in summer months or when having sushi or a drink. If I could do it over again, I’d pick the sub

I’m 38 and picked up the YG Sub earlier this year. Works well in a suit or jeans. The blue on gold combo is stunning!

Gold Sub. But I would go for the green dialed all gold GMT. The all gold DD is just too old man for me.

I might be a bit prejudice here, but to me it’s YG DD40 all the way

I am 70 and recently bought a YG Sub, black dial. My cat, Bacciagalupe, helped with the decision. I guess it would have been different if I had a blue cat.

I'd go with the DD 40, white gold with blue or green face, or yellow gold with white face.

The Blusey, no contest! They are stunning in person. Have you seen one in the flesh -- they look so much better than photographs.

Your lifestyle, way you dress, wrist size etc. would play a role but since we're saying one and only for time immemorial I'm going with the sub. I thought I'd be in the minority but it appears pretty close. The glidelock would be the X factor.

I'd just like to add that whatever decision I came to could be overturned by Bacciagalupe.

My first Rolex was a TT Air King Date. Looked identical to a Datejust but smaller.(34mm) I was 25 years old.
After trying a couple of Subs, I quickly returned to the Datejust and It's variations.
I'm now 55 and still wear and love the 'classic' Datejust look with no desire for Explorers, Yachtmasters, etc. They're all wonderful references but I've always worn and always *will* wear Datejusts.
HOWEVER - The Sunray dial 18k Sub is absolutely gorgeous. Tough call indeed. Good luck and please let us know how things work out.

As stated before, I also believe the DD is for every age. Gold Sub may be a bit less suitable in the long run (assuming you will keep it forever).
