Never mind. There are some things I really don't want to know....!

Besides severe results of diarrhea, we now have another use for Chapstick!
Regrettably, I had a beer this evening. One beer!

PS - I've really never known of that happening.

I've has mine done in 2005. Heard all the stories from those who had it done. Most had no major probs. A few had issues like swelling and infections, etc.

I had no issues. Had a local anaesthetic and was awake the whole time, but did not want to look as I was squeamish. The doctor offered to set up a mirror if I wanted to see the him doing it.

The wife watched the whole thing, including calling me "numb nuts" when the anaesthetic started working.

Took a few days for the numbness/slight soreness to go away. Went back a week later to have stiches removed. Had to have a semen sample sent away for tests and it came back negative, so all is fine. No difference in libido or performance.

I can certainly say that when traveling abroad in countries where, shall we say, the "quick step" is prevalent, you become very thankful that the Chapstick tube rolls out as far as it does!

Someone was thinking when they invented that stuff!

But JJ just said "ballistic" so he's as bad as I am.

And I really don't mean to derail this thread because it has sparked renewed discussion on the topic in my household! More stories, please. We have a tomcat who needs fixin' over here.

OK, back on the subject of vasectomies.

Have he do a buddy plan with one of his friends!

His brother in law had a reversal about 15 years ago. They're done having kids, so we'll break the news to him in the morning.

And now, off to bed! This has been fun, guys, thanks for the giggles.

Just a couple little snips, no big deal. What you guys say 'bout that? Much easier on the men, than us women. Of course, my hubby strongly disagrees with me, imagine that!

True but it ain't no pick-nick either. I urge the men who are contemplating the procedure to at least take a two days rest afterwards. I didn't and wound up in first-aid

Not really a vasectomy story but close..

My friend grew up in Long Island, NY and once he and his friend were playing catch with a football. (American, not the funny black and white checked one some of you call our soccer ball )

Anyway, back in the '70's many of us older than 35 will recall lots of cars had those nice useless hood ornaments.

My buddy threw the pass up and his friend went diving for it. He turned, tried to leap over the hood of a car and performed shall we say a self-vasectomy by ahem hooking "his family jewel bag" on said hood ornament and tearing it in two. OUCH!! I believe he said the doctors managed to save one of his two "jewels". Can't even imagine the pain..

Thought I would share this visual with all you guys on the fence!

Heheh. Sorry Lisa, I'm bad!

This is 100,000 times MORE agonizing than the real thing!

Vasectomies are a breeze!

Just remember guys! Your wives will turn into different creatures after your more than male decision to get it done!!!

Shall we imagine that you will need all the physical stamina you can muster afterward! More than a good reason to get one!

A Wussie should get no P__ssy!

I had one less than a year ago. It was a "no scalpel". The apprehension in the 2 weeks leading up to it was the worst part. The procedure itself took about 10-15 minutes and was faaaaar less horrifying than I had convinced myself prior. I followed the post-op instructions, came back for check up and 2 "specimen tests" and it worked! I highly recommend it---ultimate freedom!! My sex life improved too!

I think we scared Vernon. Don't worry, the first shot only feels like ant bites - by a million ants.

Two cuts. 15 minutes, and no problems!

You can do it laying down listening to Vivaldi!

I'm going to have it done early this summer- right after my exams.

Any pointers, gents? Eight weeks post-op is eight weeks longer than I want my wife to remain on the pill, but it'll do.

As for the vasectomy...pah. I haven't had one but I would imagine it's a walk in the park.

I personally think that once you and your partner are done having children, it's the responsible thing to do and a tremendous gift to give to your wife/partner.
