Far away from USA but over 8 years people are dying there cause of Saudis or lets say power play.

This system we live in, we did not build it. We are just here for 60 or 70 years maybe less maybe more. Just enjoy your every breath and wealth you got.

Been wearing a Seiko outside the house lately, no need to rub the bad happenings in.

Since I've been locked at home I've also been wearing a G-Shock and it's great! I do because my kids are all over me all day (also great).

But once things get back to "normal" I've also been thinking about keeping it more low key.

Haven't been wearing a watch much since I am home most of the time.

They all stopped. No winder and didn't bother to wind them up by hand or by wearing them.

If I have rainbow Daytona or GMT ice, then I might not wear them outside.

This is a joke, right? If you really feel bad about all the people who are dying, sell your watches, use the money to buy some protective equipment and donate it to your local hospital. What you're doing is an empty gesture and a waste of $53.

Eh, I think this is kind of ridiculous and non-sensical. 99% of people wouldn't notice what brand you're wearing unless you violate social distancing guidelines and stick it right in their face and announce THIS IS MY ROLEX. Also, I have no idea what not wearing your favorite watches is suppose to do for the world? Logic is baffling, but guess I'll give OP a pass because he's in NYC....

I put away all the Rolex

The empathy is nice, but no one cares what we are wearing. And I’m working at home. Best to you and yours, OP.

Fact: my wife could not possibly care less! Ever. She is sooooo not a watch person.

Gratuitous pic.
The last person that noticed this said “nice TAG!” And he owns a Rolex. LOL.

I'm an airline pilot. With all the uncertainty in the airline industry I have not been comfortable wearing my new GMT. More out of an awareness of how my industry is being affected with layoffs, exposed crewmembers, empty jets, etc. My hotel van drivers, suppliers, airports, hotels, etc.--all suffering greatly. Some hotels I stay at have airline crews and only aircrews. I know everyone is feeling the influence of the virus in their lives. Just my perspective from the air.

Good thoughts.
I have taken to not wearing my Rolex's in public now. Instead I wear one of my older Tags. Still nice but not attention getting or "in your face".

This thread makes me wonder what’s the best or nicest looking budget watch you have ever come across £150 pound max

He's just virtue signaling. The message will be received by those who he intends to receive it. The rest will enjoy their Rolex and wonder why anyone cares to post such a thing.

We should each do as suits us.

From my personal perspective, saying something like "I'm wearing a cheap watch instead of my Rolex because people are in hard times" sounds conceited.

I'm not calling the OP conceited. Far from it. I'm just saying how uncomfortable that would feel coming out of my mouth.

Each to our own. I'm self isolating at the moment. I am donating and will be volunteering when able. But I won't be selling any watches or hiding them away.

Sounds like a kneejerk reaction to what is in front of our faces at the moment. There are people dying every day before this - how could you wear a Rolex then? Do what you feel you need to, but donating time or money would impress more people and actually do someone some good beside yourself.

It's funny. I've owned a safe deposit box at a bank before, but never have I considered putting away watches until now.

I've generally just felt that my neighborhood was safe, my community was safe, and I don't necessarily share my hobby with a lot of people.

However, the world did feel like it changed just so quickly in the past 3 weeks. Didn't take much for me to stop wearing my nice watches and start putting on something that didn't make me feel like a target.

funny, my Casio DW5600-BB actually gets more wrist time than my SS Submariner Date, and SS 36mm DateJust. I rotate my watches. However, the Casio is my go to.

Simon Mann, ex sas, soldier of fortune. On every corner of the world was wearing his Rolex.

I am wearing my Rolex in Istanbul, Bagdad and Moscow every month up until this corona.

I am sure in America you are much safer. with all the cops and guns that a person can carry.

If we start to live our lives afraiding from anything we dont have a life.

We came to this soil to live our lives not for any one but for us and our family.

just enjoy your watches, if it comes to people targeting people feel free to know that they will be either after your food, guns or your cars not your watch.

In a kaos environment watches mean nothing.

just enjoy it all.

I have never flaunted a watch, so I see no reason to hide it either. I worked hard for them and they are mine to enjoy never to show off.
