Do not care for new one. Had a really great vintage one from 1959 and traded it. Happy about the trade, even though my old one had great appeal, it was too small.

So roughly the same as what you would’ve got with a Daytona before ceramic, or a Hulk 2 years ago. Definitely a collectable if discontinued, especially with the small production numbers.

It is an acquired taste. Strangely, I might prefer it if it had a white dial.

I don't own what but I like some of the unique dials that they do. The concentric circle ones are pretty cool.

I don't have a problem with the watch per se, but there are others I would acquire first.

It was designed with an eye to commemorating the Bloodhound's record-breaking speed achievement and that didn't take place. Nor is Rolex still involved in the project. That is my bigger reason for passing on it. Something of a curious piece, not in keeping with Air-King designs that preceded it. I really liked many of those legacy Air-Kings, and what they represented.

Yeh, I agree. There are so many other watches I'd rather have in that price range than an AK. Nothing is "wrong" with an AK, per se, but they don't really "do it" for me. They're not as iconic to me as a Submariner, a DJ or an Exp1. I'd rather save for one of the aforementioned Rolexes than feel like I "settled" on an AK.

My opinion - bezel too thick and the yellow and green make it look cheap.

Owned a TT Airking Date from the 70's and loved it. After 13 years, I used it to help finance a 'proper' TT Datejust.
Wish I'd kept it.
The newest version is cool, very modern and slick. Although the speedometer/racing them is a little 'heavy handed', it's a good looking and very respectable Rolex on all fronts.

I like the dial and everything about this watch. My second 6 digit Rolex was the z-blue Milgauss and finally earlier this year picked up the Air King. I like dials which are different than your typical GMT/Sub with bezel.

This may sound harsh but I can't think of any other Rolex model I would rate under the Air King. Not even the Milguass.

I see that Rolex was advertising the AK recently on their website and IG, I wonder what they have up their sleeves. But even if they got discontinued I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

I love it, although admittedly I have a soft spot for B style dials. If it were fully lumed if have one. I'd also prefer if they ditched the 3 6 9 and just went with from 5-55.

I love it. I think it has a field watch vibe which is all able quick easy read. I'd own one in a second if I was in a position to have a multi Rolex collection.

It has a small but loyal following. I'm not a big fan, sadly.

I like it but would like it a lot more if they lost the 3 - 6 - 9.

Does Rolex produce a lot of Air King throughout a year?

No one knows, and Rolex won't tell.

They're not instantly recognisable as a Rolex and we can safey say they don't sell as well as Datejusts and Subs, which would suggest a significantly lower production volume.

Beyond that its purely speculation.

Not for me. I don’t like the 3 6 9. If those markers were replaced with 15 30 45, then it’s a whole different story.
