Well, that's one of the most resounding No's I've seen from a group.

I have a 5066 and I like the dial over the new style. I like the size maybe because Im 62 and very durable like my sub. But your giving way to much! I bought mine a few years ago from a seller on trf with everything B and P no polished for $16000 to my door.

No I wouldn't do it. While I do like the PP, I think it is way overpriced in the marketplace. At MSRP, I think it is a fair watch to buy.

I would make that trade for the right Patek... but that isn't the right Patek. Hold!

I know this forum has grown increasingly tired of the ‘value discussion’ in particular because of the Rolex and other brands’ hyperinflation these past years but with all due respect a trade like this has several aspects. While I do agree with you that it’s not down to value alone - one can not entirely disregard the economical bit of it as well - if the trade was horrible value wouldn’t you advise against it because of it?
As I stated, personally I would have a hard time giving up that DD if it was me but if OP loves that PP and considers the trade it might be a good deal for him? Surely the OP will use the input from this forum as part of his decision and not let the forum make his decision for him anyway :)

Personally I quite like the aquanaut although possibly a different reference.

Another NFW here...

And coming from someone who doesn't know much about PP that watch just looks kind of... crude compared to the Rolexes. I know I probably don't know what I'm looking at. It probably has some horological significance that eludes me. It just doesn't look terribly well executed as a design. At least compared to more modern PP's.

That DD you have is super neat. The PP is quite dull compared to it. I would not do the trade.

NO WAY. Your Day Date is much nicer IMHO. Also the 5066 is just not as nice as even the 5167 so it’s an inferior Aquanaut.

I'd say no. The lack of papers and unknown service history scares me. The DD and Omega cover almost all the bases, you have a couple of very nice watches there.
