Whoa!

Thanks! Really enjoyed looking at your photos, blog, and video tour!

I saw a biographical tribute to Roger Moore yesterday evening (coincidence?). Maud Adams paid him an enormous tribute by stating that he, perhaps more than any other, was responsible for ensuring the longevity and appeal of the Bond franchise. Moore lamented that as an actor, Bond is difficult as he rarely shows any emotion. They highlighted the one point at which he was allowed to depart from this in "The Spy Who Loved Me" when XXX (Barbara Bach) confronts Bond as her lovers assassin. Understated, detached, guilty and remorseful...Pretty cool to look back on it like that. I was also surprised to hear how difficult it is to procure items from that film.

Best wishes and happy hunting for more memorabilia!

For the short answer to this, you may want to see my website page titled, "James Bond Watches: 'The List' of EON Productions Movie Wristwatches." LINK

To encourage dialogue and nth-degree research inquiries, each watch and variation has a label associated with it. So far for the movie Thunderball, there are three:
  • "Palmyra Rolex," which I describe as "Rolex Submariner; undersized RAF strap"
  • "Pre-Wear Geiger Breitling," from the scene where Q initially issues the watch to him, "Breitling Top Time; Breitling Pilot-Style Bracelet: With outer housing over bezel, case, pushers, and crown à la Geiger Counter function"
  • "As-Worn Geiger Breitling," differentiated from the above: "Breitling Top Time; silver-colored bracelet, with brass-colored ends: With outer housing over bezel, case, pushers, and crown à la Geiger Counter function"
Countless nuances such as the bracelet variation on the Breitling really make this a fascinating study, eh?
