There's nowhere to go from a 16610 imo.

If you saw someone at a party with a Submariner on their wrist, you’d never be able to determine which one they were wearing.

You’d have to walk over to them, grab them by the wrist, hold the watch 6” from your face, and look to see if there is a crown between Swiss Made.

⬆️⬆️⬆️ Agree with these gentlemen.
Having a 116610, I don’t see enough of a difference to warrant changing to a 126610. If I didn’t own one, and I were looking to buy a SS submariner today, I’d look to buy the new model. But I don’t feel a big urge to trade or sell my 11 series, as aesthetically, as said above, it’s basically the same. The new movement is nice to have, but a longer power reserve doesn’t excite me, nor do I need it.

I have not seen the new Submariner in person but have read and viewed numerous pictures. There does not seem to be enough difference to warrant a change for me.

I want a red Ferrari. But I want it to still be red 20 years from now, so I will add on a wrapping foil in a red that's not quite as nice as rosso corsa, just to be sure the original red colour isn't faded or scratched in 20 years.

That what the fat lugs/polishing argument sounds like to me.

No, I like it as is. It’s a little blocky to some people, but I don’t notice it that much. But I am blocky myself so we mesh. When I want to wear something with slimmer lugs I put on my “evening watch”, the Exp1.

Here is the thing. Was completely happy with my 114060. But there is no better time to trade-in the 11 for the 12. Was almost break even for me, get a brand new watch, new warranty, latest version. If I was not able to pull this off, would have been content with the 11, but in this case why not?

Because you merely got your money back on the 11 series and the dealer sold it for much higher value . Profit that should have gone your way ,if you wanted to sell it .It was your watch !
You in return got "the privilege " to buy one 12 series from the dealer .
You are still sitting with one watch .You didn't score much.
So,the dealer made profit three times out of two watches .
Not bad business .

16610 looks great on NATO but 116610 looks pants. 126610 as well.

So slim case watches have their place

However my 114060 is my workhorse

Yes, but he sold it for MSRP. Got a new client happy and got me happy with the watch I want. Why would I mess around with online sellers? My time is valuable. It is about building a relationship to get the watch I want when I want it. Never having to pay over MSRP. I don’t look at this as an investment game.

Upgrade if the watch you have doesn't do what you need a watch which will and the one you are buying will. Otherwise I think it's a futile exercise!!!

I have nothing against the new Subs...exceptionally happy with my 114060 though and see no reason to get the newest version.

You can acquire anytime later on, if or when the movement is sorted out

your choice, it's different, not really an upgrade. It's your money, do as you will.

The new Sub has movement issues?
