Interesting. I’ve been holding onto mine for a while and always debated selling it because it never sees wrist time. Glad I held off.
My assumption is because everything else shot up and it’s an affordable way to get into the brand as well and availability isn’t an issue. |

A month ago a neighbor sold me this 1977 1600/3 and 1999 16200 for $4K total!
All papers on the 1999, RSC service paperwork on the 1977. Still deals out there. IMG_3825.jpeg |

The 16200 came with orig bracelet in good condition. Put an Everest brown leather on it.

Hey, a little late to the game but here my 1601 from 69. Got it from a local pawn shop last year for 2100$ USD with a complete kit. Since acquiring it I’ve source a TT oval bracelet from rolliworks and a tt silver dial.
Next year I plan to send the case to mike at rolliworks to have him restore the lugs and make the bezel crisp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I went through a phase of vintage datejusts and found the ones listed here on TRF very overpriced. I routinely got great examples for around $3000, even for “rare” ones like linen dials and gray sigma dials on places like the Reddit watch exchange. To be honest I rarely look here for deals anymore. Everyone is a gray dealer who needs to turn a profit, other market places are better for buying from regular people who don’t need to make profit. Nothing against the sellers here, just a different market place.

DateJust prices are unlikely to ever be in Paul Newman territory, but it's a nice watch that certainly won't lose much value over time.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, so apologies if it isn't. I have a black Tapestry dial TT Datejust I bought new in 1984 or 1985. I never wear it anymore. It has the original box, tags, brochure, extra link, everything. It's in nice shape, but the bracelet has a lot of stretch. Anyone have an idea what it's worth today? Thanks.

(Edit). It’s too late to delete that post, but I promise not to sell it or scam anyone.

Whether it is a better movement remains to be seen, as there are many Rolex owners with 32XX and they are not very happy. I prefer my 32 year old Datejust 16234 with the 3135 movement which is +1 second a day. |

I picked up a 1603 sigma dial off eBay for $1250 in an open auction once. It doesn’t seem that long ago. Only reason I wanted it was I could see it had a 9315 bracelet It’s been a good watch but a little small for me. Got another one maybe 2 years back for $2250. Black dial 1601 from a S. Dakota pawnshop. Under loupe I found out it was a confetti type dial. Covered with tiny red specks. I never thought they would really climb. Sports watches, yes, except two-tones and 1675’s....
