yes and no. I don't like to wear any other watch than a Rolex...that said, I wear it everywhere....don't baby it...just wash it ever once and a while.

Those that know model numbers are far less irritating than those that have the gay pet names like "bluesy", "platty" and WHY as far as I'm concerned.

I don't wear mine if I'm hammering nails or wrenching on my bike or car. A slip of a wrench can destroy a dial and crystal, or put a deep enough gouge in the case that couldn't be buffed out. I have plenty of beater watches to wear while cutting the grass or working out. I don't see any reason to risk a $500.00 repair bill to prove to me that they're tough.

If my Rolex could talk it would say, "You can't do nothing to me Badfish hasn't already done".

Every morning, I wake up and slam a hammer into the sapphire crystal and the back of the case, just to let them know they won't get babied around here.
Then I take a blowtorch to the bracelet. If they give me any lip after that, it's straight to the garbage disposal. |

I try not to give it a thought. I wore a Daytona for years without even knowing it had become valuable, and I wore it as I'd wear a Timex--doing manual labor, driving a truck, fishing. Hell, it's probably been through a stupid fistfight or two (I was only 22 or so when I bought it). None of which had any effect, at all, upon it's value. Tossing the boxes and tags, that counted, but living in it? Nothing at all. These watches are built to outlive us. And they shall.
