I read inside only, but just saw a video that said none whatsoever. Rolex advertised it on the sub as inside, but nothing advertised on the Explorer's.

Think they took the Daytona treatment to the new Subs. That being adding AR to the underside of the Crystal. Cyclops already had to your point. I haven't seen the LEC on the new Exp2 under a loupe, but it should tell you if AR or not. The below link is an interesting ID guide. You'll see how Rolex designates AR.

Check out my link, it will teach you how to ID by the version of the LEC included on the sapphire. Now we just need to get our hands on a new Exp 2

Green Sub and Polar Explorer II is a fantastic combination!! Very good point on the micro differences. We geek out on them but it's essentially the same watch.

Thanks man, I will never sell these watches but just for fun I have tried to think of other watches to move on to but can't think of anything better to wear and enjoy daily.

It says a lot about how 'special' this anniversary watch is when we need (so far) 3 pages to try to discern exactly what's changed!

It's like "Spot the Difference", level 10,000!

I think we should just agree that it's a great looking watch... in the same way it was a great looking watch when it came out 10 years ago.

I don't see the little changes Rolex made. It was a great piece last year and is a great piece this year.

The date seems to be a bit more to the LEFT for the new Explorer 2 in the video ???

The Explore II is a beauty to behold. Not surprising that Rolex found it hard to change the esthetics...

But for the 50th Anniversary, it was a disappointment that not a single variable could not be improved upon or even altered.

I don't think it's disappointing to have got something so right in the first place.

As someone posted in another thread. The 50th anniversary hype was internet generated, not Rolex generated. We set ourselves up to be knocked down.

Whether it's ever so slightly different or not is irrelevant. The fact remains that after the teaser video leading up to the announcement, I'm very underwhelmed and as far as I'm concerned Rolex has yet again proved they don't deserve their place at the top table.
If you want to see innovation take a peep at JLC, VC, Omega or even Oris for god's sake.

It’s good to have some diversity in the line up and now we have both 42 and 36mm professional models in the explorer line. Great to have options for our smaller and bigger wristed enthusiasts.

So what were the teasers from Rolex for Explorer 2 for it not for the hype? For same watch why do you create teasers? Lol.

Rolex also increased bracelet width and movement upgrade on its Deepsea but it was done without any fanfare... there were no teasers to do such minor update.

That could well be due to the new movement...

Well, I'm not going to rush out to replace my 216570 anytime soon. Differences are really, really subtle.

Especially if you have the black one you shouldn’t replace since you have the phantom hands.

It’s an instant Classic now and will go up in value

And, more importantly, the beautiful and classic satin dial.
