I don't know how I made it this far without realizing that a Day-Date could come with a smooth bezel. Guess I've never been rich enough to even browse the platinum models before haha. I see now that you actually can't get fluted on the platinum, and you can't get smooth on any of the other metals. Is there a technical reason (machining, etc) for this or just a way to visually set the platinum apart from the white gold?

Regardless of all that - congrats OP, looks awesome!

Awesome watch, something about the blue Roman quad dial didn’t quite do it for me. The ice blue w/ those WG Romans looks incredible!! This is currently my favorite iteration of the Platinum DD. Huge congrats Tom, wear it in good health.

Thank you all very much. I’m still in awe of this thing, I have my fair share of watches but this one feels different. I’ve been wearing it 24/7 since I got it. Wife thinks it’s “a little much” for casual everyday use but I think the platinum flies under the radar and works for everything from formal to flip-flops and shorts. Curious to know your opinions on the matter?

I didn’t order it just expressed my interest to my ad back in April when Rolex released the new dial with the white Romans. All in all about 8 months.
