The price of the watch is 40k. No way around paying that, either in cash or in “relationship”. Many believe the former is cheaper.

You have to decide if your into games. If you are, you will need to play it. I choose not to play the game, because it’s silly and I do not like being played. There are so many other great and far more significant chronographs out there.

My thought is this. You've written very passionately and eloquently of your desire for a Daytona...and signed up for one on a list. That's really about all you can do, short of sniffing out other AD's who might be more sympathetic to your plight.
Or is it? Realizing your wait will mostly take years, and probably several of those, why not purchase one from the gray market to wear while you wait all those years? When your watch materializes, you can then sell the one you bought, most likely for a profit unless something bizarre happens, and then all's right with the world. |

But in the real world the only people who have ever noticed it or said anything were SA’s in watch stores. I love it, wearing it today, but you really need to make sure it’s the watch you want, not the hype that goes with it. Make sure you want it for the right reasons. Had I not had a realistic path to getting one at MSRP I simply wouldn’t have one. |

If you really want the SS Daytona, you can go grey, but get close to paying retail by buying other watches like the 126710 BLRO and 126610 LV.
Using US dollars, those watches would be around $20k at retail, but if traded on the grey market would fetch (using Chrono24 with unworn watches as a reference) $28.5k and $24.5k respectively, which means you could trade for a Daytona (again spot price on Chrono24) of $46.6k straight up, showing the grey dealer a $6.4k profit, or if a smooth talker, might get $2-3k back on the trade. So, imagine getting a Daytona ($14.5k retail) watch for $20k … in todays market, that’s pretty amazing! Here’s another example, say your AD sells you an OF Daytona YG JPS for $29.2k. Grey market current Chrono price is $59.5k, so you trade to grey dealer for $52k, which gets you the SS Daytona and $6k cash, meaning you only paid $23k for the SS Daytona. Of course this is predicated on you being able to get those desirable watches, but you already have a BLRO, so seems like you may have that available option. Like Judo uses the opponents weight against themself, use the grey market’s prices to accomplish your goals. Just a thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I really can’t believe that every Watch including PMs are not considered desirable. I guess it’s the knock on effect if guys not being able to get SS. When I look at my invoices if the MSRP of mine, they really do seem like peanuts. So tempting to go PM for free. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
