The 3 you own right now i'd rock as beaters. They are durable, give it a try.

I think you’ll find the size more than fine once you wear it a bit. I wear a 34 mm OP for my weekend watch and, after moving it to a SS jubilee bracelet I’ve found it’s held up nicely, feels large enough, and tells me the time as it should :)

I wear my Sub daily...it does fine and you can use dishwashing equipment to restore the finish if you so desire, so it's a pretty easy watch to maintain. If 5K is a hard budget and you don't want to wear what you have, a nice automatic Seiko is cheap and great. Used Breitlings with ETA movements are damned near indestructible. If you like a larger watch, the Superocean is really nice and you can find nice examples for only a few thousand...it's a lot of watch. In terms of 5K for Rolex tho, you're limited in 2022...

Looking for a Beater Rolex.....
Bought SD 16600 for $5k with no tax - Portland, Oregon circa 2013. That’s about as indestructible as they come, but unfortunately, they aren’t that price anymore, but the 16600 is probably the best Rolex “tough watch” value available today, so stretch a bit and get that one.

Yeah agree on the super oceans. A lot of watch for the money. Bought my wife a 36 and she loves it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You didn’t state any reason why it had to be a Rolex?!
You can just get any watch then. They all do the same job. |

A BB58. 5k budget doesn’t leave many options if you want to stick to the Rolex house .
Realistically. It’s a tool watch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I had only seen the white dial one until a few months ago at a watch show, where I saw the version with the blue dial. They both look great! |
