But as others have mentioned, all the WoS stores irrespective of the name on the door use a central database to log your interests, this is why WoS often ask for proof of ID to ensure that you are who you say you are.

I have had no issues at all with WoS, great service and friendly staff at every turn, but it is two years since I last bought anything from them due to a house move so things may have changed in the intervening period.

My new AD is an independent, lovely friendly and very welcoming but as I have no previous history they have made it clear that any watch I want will require me to get a history with the store. As they have nothing that I or the Mrs need my Rolex buying days are (or at least appear to be) over which is fine.
Proof of ID - Over 18s only

Could you not still engage with your previous AD or is it simply too far now?

No purchase history in 2022, for a steel sports model…. Go grey, don’t waste the ADs time.

Forget about Pragnell too they will ask you to buy jewellery etc and it won't be a small earring to say the least. Very shady

Martins in Cheltenham are a good independent dealer, have purchased my last three Rolexes from them, good honest service. Wouldn't waste my time with WOS,M&W or any of them.I am not going to be patronised by some grotty little sales man telling me why he can't sell me a watch.
Went into M&W one day afew years ago with cash in my pocket to buy a new Submariner, because I went from my workshop and was,in my work clothes, they suggested I went to a High St jeweller.
I won't write what I suggested they do!! Don't waste time with them, they might be glad of customers soon if the financial crap continues.

Agree on Preston’s the staff are rude on another level I’d rather go grey than deal with them

They bark even if you dare step in the showroom

Have a look on line at what they have.

I got a sub date from them in 2019 with no purchase history through chasing and going in person. They were ok to deal with. Since then though they’ve been horrendous. Not helpful at all and I have since moved on to another AD
